good location and good price. the actual motel was perfectly average. sheets and towels were clean, but room was dusty and a/c was funky (worked, but funky). i never felt unsafe going out, and there were some really great coffee/food options within walking distance. public transport was good, too- lots of options and schedules were consistent. you can't see the beach from the property because it's behind the sand dunes, but if you want to GO to the beach it's literally across the street. i picked this motel because it was close to golden gate park (which was my primary reason for coming to san fran) and to be able to go to the beach, so it did not disappoint! staff was also very kind.

Room smelled awful and no option for ventilation since windows had no screens. Toilet seat was peeling, furniture quality looked like dressers were picked up off the curb, TV didn’t work. Front desk never answered the phone over the two days. No microwave in room. Plus: very clean, great location.

No doorknob to bathroom. Visible damage to shower. No kleenex, coffeemaker, hair dryer, shower cap. Parking limited. Sketchy outside. There were fruit flies in my room and some mystery green bug. I’d say a step up from a hostel.

If you want to have a room full of flies, refrigerator leaking or the handle to shower broken then this is the place for you. Area is surrounded by homeless people living in their cars. I did go to front desk to ask for another room. He couldn’t 1st night because he was fully. But we can switch rooms next day. He never reached out to me to do so. Will never come back or recommend!
