As soon as you enter the room, there is no guide or even some kind of written guidance about the room features. I wasn't sure how the lights start, fo example. If you dial the reception for help, the turn-around time is slow to fulfil your request. The lobby looks a bit too dark in the night. The air fresheners smell weird.

staff was kind enough to take me upstairs to the lounge to check in due to the line. I am a AII member, although not elite status, still very kind. no real easy public transport options. shuttle only begins at 10am. friendly staff and easy bag storage options.

The only thing is there’s nowhere to put your make up & toiletries in the bathroom, the hanging space is only 1/2 wardrobe length, can’t hang dresses, too many small tables and lamps in the small room.

Infant Injury, Unsafe Conditions

As parents of a 10-month-old baby, we are deeply traumatised by what our family has gone through due to the negligence of Mercure on Stevens in Singapore. Our child was seriously injured in the hotel room because of unsafe and overlooked conditions—a broken kettle with a faulty lid placed within reach of a crawling infant. The incident resulted in emergency hospitalisation and surgery for our baby. No parent should ever have to face such a situation while staying in what should be a professionally managed, family-safe hotel. To our shock, not only was there no safety protocol in place, but no support, no compensation, and not even a courtesy call was offered to us by the hotel following this traumatic event. The attitude of the hotel manager (Daniel) was cold and unapologetic. At a time when our child was in critical condition, we were pressured to vacate the room or face further charges, rather than being offered even the minimum level of compassion or assistance. This experience has left us hurt, shaken, and extremely disappointed. We are sharing this so that no other family goes through what we did. A hotel should be a place of safety and trust, not a source of injury and indifference. We sent email to the hotel management but so far no response. We also tried contacting them through Accor.

First time at this hotel. Overall very happy. First the good… checked in earlier than normal, was given an upgrade to higher floor, fast check out. Rooms big enough for one or a couple and best of all there’s filtered water for your drinking safety. Can be improved… room service did not clean my room, the walls seem to be very thin, I could hear noises from above, beside and around me. The layout of the rooms are perhaps way too close each other (see pic). Still a very convenient location if you want to be at Orchard area but not be too near it. And the food outlets on the premises (operated separately from the hotel) are pretty good. Will come back again, but for short trips. Thank you Mercure.

I found the Mercure on Stephen‘s to be a good location for what I needed affordable and Central good clean hotel with a swimming pool and wouldn’t hesitate to go back there when I return to Singapore
