This hotel should not be for anything more than $50 a night. The hotel reminds one of a 1900s movie and hasn’t been renovated at all. The rooms are super small and dingy and carpet hasn’t been updated in ages. The shower led to pipes rattling in the bedroom and so much that it scared my daughter. The area is unsafe with weed smells all around and they don’t even give free water bottles I think any hotel would be better and I can’t believe I spend 340 a night for this piece of garbage hotel

We loved the location and the room. We were right beside Madison Square Garden and it was exciting. The staff at New Yorker was excellent at every encounter. Professional, friendly, helpful, and cheerful. I would 100% stay here for every visit. The bathroom could use some shelf space, there was absolutely nowhere to place toiletries.

My daughter’s room was entered at 4 a. m. during our stay by someone who either had a master keycard or was given the same keycard. Either way, when she complained to the night manager, she was completely unconcerned, showed no care for what happened, and even acted as if my daughter was over-reacting. She was offered a “breakfast voucher” for her troubles and the night manager considered her case closed, with no offer to formally investigate. Will never stay again. It’s sad because before that happened, I would’ve given them five stars.

Overrated if clean

Whoever rated this hotel an 8+ needs to get out more. The property is old and tired, but clean. Employees are New Yorkers so abrupt and seemingly overworked. The bar gave me a plastic cup for whiskey to take to the room. This is a 5 or 6 max. But it is right near Penn Station which was my goal.

There’s black dirt on the bath tub that my daughter refused to take a bath there.I pointed it to cleaning lady but the dirt didn’t go away. The BR sink faucet on the left wasn’t working. For the amount of money that I paid every night, I feel like it’s not worth it unless it’s the standard in New York.
