We enjoyed our one night stay here. Staff were welcoming and friendly. We arrived before check in so our room was not yet ready but we were able to leave bags with reception and go to the pool area. Our room was large and spacious, it had been cleaned however the bathroom smelt and when we awoke the next day there were lots of flies in the shower, bath and on our towel. The pool was great, a large pool with two smaller ones. The main issue outside is the lack of sun beds for everyone and some of the sun beds and tables being broken. We ate lunch at the restaurant which was tasty and ordered room service for dinner which was also tasty. The buffet breakfast was varied and plentiful - especially the omelette and pancakes were tasty! We did not leave the hotel so cannot comment on the surrounding area. We got a grab to the airport which was around a 20 minute drive. Would recommend for a short stay.

Sabah hotel was clean and confortable. The staff was friendly the food was tasty. I ejoyed a relaxing massage and enjoyed the appearance of a large water monitor at the pool. I also appreciate that my western style bathing suit was foundto be acceptable attire. Unfortunately, though I was looking forward to the lamb barbecue on Saturday that very day when I asked about the extra activity near the pool, the staff told me that the barbecue was cancelled and the kitchen was closed to to a wedding event scheduled at the hotel. It would have been ice to be reffered to another restaurant rather thankust be be told yhat the desert and alcohol bar would be open.

Just outside the city in a parklike lication. Spotless clean and free from bad odors. The staff is markedly attentive and friendly. Helped me to set up and use a Grab ap to get resonable rates to visit town and other locations. The food is well prepared. Semi pet water monitors vist the pool area. Waterslides, jacuzzi, on premises. Refrigerator and coffee in room. Massage available.

Not great service

The trip was booked for 2 adults and a child on a suite. When we arrived they applied extra charges for a rollaway bed eventhough it was booked as 3 people booking. We were left without toulet paper for a whole day as the housekeeping forgot to add when changing room and then again when we went to reception. Had to call 3 hours later from the room. It is expensive for what it provides and benefits from being the only larger hotel in the area.

Nice Hotel, Good Restaurant, Pool, and History.

Great little hotel with a pool just outside downtown Sandakan. The hotel restaurant was a pleasant surprise, as they had good Malay food and the staff were amazing! Unfortunately they do not open in a timely manner for breakfast. Otherwise a great stay. If you're into history there are some cool photos in the lobby worth checking out. Apparently the property was a former residence of the governor of North British Borneo, and it is nice to see what it and the town used to look like.

Great to wind down

Need to update electrical outlets for travellers with cellphones and other devices that need recharging daily. We can only found one outlet that worked in our room. One day we were left with only half a roll of toilet paper for two which’s impossible .

An aging property depending on local events and functions more than room revenues to survive. Room fixtures are dated and worn. Plumbing was sluggish to drain. Outdoor areas are also dated and could use a refresh. The live-in Monitor lizard was a surprise. Food & Beverage was a bright spot with good offerings at reasonable prices.
