Cant beat the location and price for accomodating a family of 5 in London

This place is a great accomodation for a great price for my family of 5 while in London. Right next to hyde park and easy access to all tourist locations in the area. A short walk to the subway. The place was well stocked, clean and owner was very communicative.

Pros: Excellent communication and helpfulness. Owner was very kind. The location is perfect, especially for kids and proximity to Diana Memorial Playground. Plenty of restaurants, etc within a block. Cons: the space is way too cluttered with stuff and furniture that is too big for the space. It didn’t feel clean because there is so much clutter. Huge glass table and cabinets full of stemmed glassware, etc we were worried about breaking things. The pictures show a way more streamlined version of the space. The stairs down to the basement unit were better than some, but not ideal for elderly people. Overall, it is a good price to sleep 8 people in a safe neighborhood of London. The space could be so much better without all of the clutter though.

Notting Hill Gate

Apartment was pretty much exactly as described. For our family of 5 grown-ups for 9 nights there was plenty of sleeping space. There was a clothes washer and dishwasher, and all the kitchen wares you could need. I don't usually like staying in basement rentals because of the noise above, but that really wasn't a problem here. As others have pointed out, the place could use refurbishment, but that would be the only thing I could pick on. You're simply not going to find a better value for the location and some scuffs on the walls don't really bother us. It's about a 5 minute walk to Notting Hill Gate tube station and buses are even closer. We were met on arrival for a quick tour and the keys. Workers needed to come in a couple of times to address a leak and some cleanup (we arrived during a pretty big storm) and the communication was outstanding. The couple of times I asked a question, I got a very quick response. We all agreed it was a great choice and wouldn't hesitate at all to stay here again.

First Trip to London

What you see is what you get with this property. This apartment is a good choice for a couple or maybe small family (3 people) visiting London. The apartment is a nice size and is easy to navigate around. We found more personal items in the apartment than the pictures noted, but none of the items were in the way. The apartment is located near excellent dining options, and close to above ground and underground transportation options - making eating and getting around the city a breeze.

Pictures are deceiving

The best thing about this apartment is the location. Communication was not great as I had to ask multiple times for information to find the apartment and how to get in. But the worst part was the owner over booked and we could not check in on our original date. Which we were not told until 4 days before arriving and leaving us to scramble to find a hotel for our first night. The Queen had just died and hotel prices were high. The pictures are not a true representation of this apartment. There is so much clutter it feels like the owner’s storage unit. There are no arm chairs in the living room. Instead, there are 2 fold down couches that can be beds. There are 2 chairs but they are so low to the ground they are hard to get out of if you are over 5 feet tall. (Especially after a day of walking through the city.) And they are very much a part of the clutter. We didn’t need 2 beds in the living room so put one back as a couch. It too is very low to the ground. Then there is the cleanliness issue. Overall the apartment is clean in the most used areas but one of the couches, as well as the living room rug, is stained. The carpets throughout are not clean in the non high traffic areas. But the worst part was the moldy window covering in the back bedroom. It is seriously gross and a health issue, especially if you have allergies. Even with the good location, I would not rent here again.

Great location!

This apartment is in a great location with easy access to the Tube, grocery stores, restaurants, and the Princess Diana Memorial Playground for the kids. The area seemed safe, even in our evening returns. The kitchen was a nice bonus. When we had questions, the owner responded very promptly.

Overall Nice- could use a little fine tuning

We had an overall good experience. We weren't in the apartment much, but the location felt very safe. It was just a few minutes to the metro station and about 5 minutes to Kensington Gardens. We were traveling as a family of 6 and had plenty of beds for everyone. The house was clean overall, but a bit cluttered. The bedding could use some updating as well as the carpets. Overall would recommend.

Great apartment near Hyde Park

We really enjoyed our stay. It is a great location near the Notting Hill tube stop and very close to many bus lines. Edem was great to work with. Very flexible and always communicated back to us very quickly which we very much appreciated. The price is great for the location and it felt like a very safe area. The apartment was very spacious and was what we were expecting based on the pictures we had seen. Thanks for a great stay in a great city!

PROS: -terrific location, access to transit and parks, cleanliness and safety of neighborhood -nice sized flat. We slept 5 very comfortably. -kitchen is well stocked -nice and quiet -plenty of hot water and good climate control -washer also partly dries clothes, so drying didn't take very long (nice drying racks supplied in flat!) COULD BE IMPROVED: -Clutter in the corners. Not dirty, but lots of random stuff around. -it would be good to have instructions for stove, laundry, especially for non-European visitors. We figured it out, but it took us a bit -latch on washing machine needs repaired. It takes a lot of tries to get the door open and closed. But once closed, the washer did a good job and held more than expected. -beds are very firm (we were so tired from being out all day that it didn't stop our sleep, they were not the most comfortable) -some updated bedding would be nice in the master bedroom We would stay again, given the location, space, and price. It was great for our needs (out all day, just eat breakfast and sleeping there).

Great location, utilitarian flat

You can't beat the location. Easy walking distance to 2 tube stops, Portobello Rd shopping, the park, pubs, grocery store, coffee shops and more. The space was fine for 6 of us. The flat itself is very basic, but it worked for us since we only wanted to sleep there. Owner was accomodating when we asked for a 2nd set of keys we had them in a matter of minutes. Easy check in. Wifi worked. We did a load of laundry and ran the dishwasher - all good. Just to make it clear - this isn't a luxury accomodation, but you should be expecting that for the very reasonable price in this location. I give it 5 stars because it is everything it claims to be and is as shown in photos. It's a nice, no frills home base in a great location.

Excellent location and a large apartment

The apartment is excellent in every way. There is a tube and buses and supermarkets nearby. Hyde Park is a 3-minute walk away. The property owners are very accommodating and available. The apartment is indeed large, we were a couple with five big children and the apartment was very suitable for us. The drawbacks of the apartment are, the small kitchen, and that there is only one bathroom and the level of cleanliness of the apartment can be improved. In summary, if I had gone back to vacation in London I would have rented this apartment again.

Location, cleanliness, communication and access were top notch. With very little effort some basics could be added (dish towels, softer towels, a few more cooking utensils, a few spices for cooking) and this would be a top shelf rental. Would also have appreciated a handbook that explained using the heating system, dishwasher, laundry and oven.

great location

overall the location was fantastic, the apartment clean. No frills, just the basics, but clean and safe. Difficult to reach the owner initially, and check in details were not sent in advance despite several requests requiring a call to VRBO headquarters who were very helpful. Once we were put in touch with the owner, things were very smooth and professional.

Perfect location

We had a lovely stay here, as a base it was ideal. The location was spot on, a few minutes walk to the shops and tube, restaurants on your doorstep. The apartment itself was in good clean condition, as previously mentioned in other reviews it could do with a little TLC, we noticed an odd smell which we concluded was the drains. Overall the apartment suited our needs, and we would recommend it to others

Great location, decent accomodations

The managers of the property were very easy to work with and accomodating. The property has adequate space for 3-6 people, but note that the general living area needs to be used as a sleeping space when your group is larger than 4.
