The room could do with updating. The cleaning staff are REALLY noisy outside the rooms and woke me up on several separate occasions. I could hear people in the next rooms talking also, so this might be a problem in general. It’s a pretty average hotel, but because where it is, they stick someone on the door to open it for you and then charge a premium.

The doors are very loud and not sound proof at all. So we hear every single door shut at midnight or early morning. Got waken up all the time. The room is very tight for three people and the sofa bed is not comfortable to sleep on.

Check-in was really confusing. They had a room, they didn't have a room...then they had a room. Then they could check us in but not give us a key but then they could give us a key. Pretty strange. After getting to our room we took a nap (long flights) then there was a knock at the door and they took some pillows away. Didn't replace the pillows for hours. Definitely some weird things.

The breakfast was ample with eggs, bacon, pancakes, breads, omlettes, etc. The staff were very friendly, and when I asked for transport and sightseeing suggestions, they immediately referred me to Louise, who knew everything about the area. There were MANY people checking in and out every day, and one of the lifts was broken most of the time, but the staff took it in stride, though it must have caused many complaints. There was a humorous sign in the functional lift about the elevator taking unexpected routes. Lastly my trip was marked by a horrible oversight on my part. I needed an Uber to Gatwick, and the staff also helped with that recommending that I use my app instead of the Uber machine, which was more expensive. Halfway to Gatwick, I realized I had forgotten to take my passport out of the safe. I called the hotel in a panic, and very officiously ordered them to bring the contents of the safe to the front desk so I could grab them, and hopefully make my flight. Biola was more than kind. She complied with empathy and with a smile. I made my flight, and had a wonderful time in London thanks to everyone at the Residence Inn Marriott.

Excellent place to stay in London. I will definitely return next time I visit London. The only negatives would be the slow lifts and limited breakfast choice (scrambled eggs do not work in a hotel breakfast buffet - a choice of freshly cooked eggs would be preferred).
