Liked: Staff & service
Great value for money in sought after location
We loved the location although the hotel itself was a little worn. For the price we paid however, we could not complain. The staff were lovely.
Good spot if you are only staying a night or two although would not recommend for a week+ stay
I had a very pleasant experience at this hotel. The staff was accommodating and offered to store our luggage while we waited to check in, which was a thoughtful touch that made our arrival much more convenient. The overall atmosphere was clean and inviting, and the service throughout our stay was friendly and professional. A very nice place—I would definitely consider staying here again
Good location, although the street is kinda sketchy. Close to the Underground lines. Room was comfortable with great amenities. The bed wasn’t too comfortable. Woke up every day sore. Staff was very, very nice.
Walking distance to sites and metro station 5-10 min walk. Grocery store next to hotel. If you don’t do the breakfast at the hotel there a bakery/coffee shop within 5 mins walk called Gail’s. Overall excellent stay and would stay here again.
Nice property, great location & connectivity to Waterloo pier, London eye & the palace area. Bus stop connectivity is also great. Room was cozy & nice. Small kitchenette was the icing on the cake for us as we were travelling with kids.
We stayed 4 nights. 2nd day we had house keeping however nothing we used was replaced, such as dish cloth, dishwasher tablets salt/pepper. When we arrived there was no shower gel in the container. When we contacted service to request what we needed, it arrived promptly. Hotel is in great position for bus, train and underground . Very easy. Supermarket 3 doors down. Great having a kitchenette. Pub 3 doors in other direction, good meals.
Nice view, comfortable enough bed. Functional shower. Refrigerator was practically unfunctional. It was plugged in but had no way to make it colder. Like literally it felt like it wasn't producing any chill whatsoever so some cheese we bought the day before in Edinburgh became rotten after a day in the "fridge". There was also an issue w/the lights where we had to find a hidden switch in the upper cabinet that needed to be turned off in order to turn off the LED light in the "kitchenette" area. No one told us this and when we asked the front desk, they didn't really help. They referred us to the paper that came with the room that had some instructions on how to operate some things but made no mention to the secret switch. My guess is that someone messed w/it before we came in and no one bothered to switch it off.
The location wasnt amazing - it was right next to a bus stop but not a metro station - that was mostly my bad but it was the first hotel i booked on my recent Euro trip and i wasnt think about it but fair warning to those who want convenience and may be traveling to multiple countries - we had to do a LOT of walking here and needed to take an uber the times we had our suitcases on us. If you are traveling super light tho like just a backpack, it probably doesn't really matter. It's like a 12 min walk to the metro which may be ok for some ppl but for us during a heat wave in the summer, it wasn't ideal. It's close to Leake St graffiti tunnel tho so that's cool.
The hotel was in a great location. We were able to walk or take public transportation to the sights that we wanted to visit. Our only mishaps were with some electrical issues in our room. For some reason, the A/C would stop cooling throughout the evening requiring me to get up & the only way to fix it was by removing the key card from the master control on the wall, giving it time to reset, then reinserting the card. I figured this out the 2nd day after having told the staff & being told that it was resolved.
The other issue was that the bread toaster would set off the main breaker of the entire room when used. The breaker had to be reset by a technician. as soon as it was reset, we tried to use the toaster and it happened again. I again reported the issue and we left the hotel for the day. When we returned, I tried the toaster, once again, only to find that they did not replace it. We had to wait for a technician to reset the breaker and give us a new toaster.
Our second stay in a year. This is a great location for sightseeing as it has easy access to Lambeth North or Waterloo stations. The hotel itself is pretty good. Has AC which is nice. The drains in the sinks don’t drain that well. But the kitchenette was useful. There’s a Pret a Manger literally outside the front door and a Sainsburys.
