A mixed experience - some great aspects to this hotel - the location is second to none - just a few steps from Victoria station and Wicked show at Apollo Victoria. The playroom on the first floor was a very pleasant surprise and much enjoyed by my 11 year old niece - giant connect 4, a football table and a small snooker table (the white snooker ball was missing but we used the yellow). The bedroom was great - we stayed executive suite with sofa bed - the king bed was a really generous size and we requested the bathroom with a bath rather than the rooms with only a shower which did delay our check in (on time around 3pm) or we would have been able to check in early! The room inspection didn’t pick up the missing items - catered for 2 with cups, glasses and towels and the luxury Espa hand soap by the basin, the body wash in the shower and the hand soap for the bath were all empty. Also no complimentary bottles of water in the room as I would usually receive and have come to expect. The room itself was also very cold on arrival, took time to heat up, got very cold again throughout the evening - we requested and appreciated receiving an extra duvet. The bathroom - bath cleaning could also benefit from some attention to detail to clean the drain areas that fill with other guests hair etc The breakfast was disappointing - for a Sunday advertised 7-11am I was told on 3 occasions that at 10.20 I had arrived late for breakfast - the choices were limited (see photos) - no croissant

Breakfast was okay but not amazing. Was decent but chose to skip it on the second morning. The gents toilet in the lobby was blocked and smelled pretty bad on the day we arrived though I was informed they would fix it as soon as I mentioned it to the barman. On the positive side, the room was lovely and spacious. They allowed us to check in early and gave us drinks vouchers and a bottle of red wine for the room. Staff were friendly and well trained. Overall it was a great experience.

This place has good and bad. The rooms are adequate and comfortable. There isn’t very good soundproofing. I had to change rooms 3 times because the AC wasn’t working and I ended up having an asthma attack due to the ongoing issue. Bring ear plugs and sound machine if you want to actually sleep. I had issues in all the rooms that were electrical related. If it wasn’t the AC it was lights or the TV. I found it to be a very stressful stay. Don’t depend on these people to do anything with any sort of hurry. The check in was absurd. I got there at 1pm asked to check in they said I must wait until 3. I came back at 3:30 and was told it would be an additional hour and half wait. Or I could take a lesser room than what I paid for. Room service people were nice One of the maintenance guys is really nice. Front desk staff are yes men with zero follow through. If you need a taxi don’t ask them do it yourself. It was close to Victoria Station and that was convenient. Will I ever stay again, NO!
