Great location, with a huge beautiful green space adjacent, our room was large, comfortable, big windows, nice linen, towels. Restaurant had a great breakfast buffet. Hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Hotel has watercolour postcards of the hotel available and they will stamp and mail them for you! Perves the doorman was always cheerfully friendly and Eliesier was outstanding as a concierge!

We had a great experience at The Royal Horseguards. The staff was friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The hotel is located in a perfect area—everything we wanted to see was within walking distance. The included breakfast buffet was very good, and a nice surprise was that the mini bar in the room was free. The only downside was that, like many European and Asian hotels, there wasn’t a fan or window in the bathroom. Other than that, everything was excellent. We’d definitely stay here again.

Great Stay

For the moment of arrival the checkin out, the hotel staff were brilliant. Very welcoming and accommodating as we arrived early (10:30am) - expecting simply to drop our bags off - instead they swapped us to a room that was ready with a better view so we could get settled in. The doorman was class, top guy who set the tone for the stay. Breakfast was also great plenty of choice as you’d expect but we were particularly pleased with the quality of the cooked food- for us it was all cooked as we liked it. The location for us was brilliant as we were going to the Lyceum theatre to watch the lion king and then into town to eat at a local steak house. So everything was super easy to get too as the Embankment tube station is 3/4min walk away.

Feeling disappointed

For a 5 star hotel we were disappointed, it seemed very disjointed where staff in breakfast just sat you down and that was it.day 3 we discovered there was a breakfast menu and not only buffet, in all fairness when I ordered eggs Benedict they were fantastic. We sat in the bar on 2 of our 4 nights and it really felt that we were not wanted there, on both occasions left after a short period. Location fantastic. Evening restaurant menu limited but what we had was good. Shame the couple sitting next to us were not staying in the hotel were paying half the price of the evening meal (groupon voucher)

Absolutely the best staff at this hotel. From door staff, porters, reception and restaurant staff - the very best! We had some issues with the room that were somewhat attended to but did not impact our stay. Felt extremely safe and could walk most places we wanted to visit. Had a great stay here. Very close to all the attractions. The hotel is a little dated but still in very good shape. The room was very spacious, had a great bath tub with separate shower. We loved the free mini bar filled with pop, water and snacks daily. We found the concierge very helpful and the doormen as well.

The hotel was alright. It looks great from the outside, but my room wasn't great. The door to the shower didn't shut properly so you had to keep the water away from the door otherwise the rest of the bathroom would be soaked. Good pillows and the breakfast was good, though.
