Lovely hotel but disappointing moments

It took 3 trips to the front desk on check-in to get a working key. We left the placard on the door to have the room cleaned, went out for about 6 hours and came back to find the room had not been cleaned. We had to contact the front desk to have it done, at one point, needing to actually go to the front desk, since no one was answering the phone, either in housekeeping or reception. The day before we checked out, we opted to have a light breakfast in their "Gin Palace" room. The menu stated there was a breakfast deal of any coffee and one pastry or any coffee and one sandwich, which is what we had. When I got the bill, we had been charged separately for each item and I needed to ask for the bill to be corrected. It's a shame because the hotel is lovely and the location's ideal, but I feel we should have been offered a free drink or SOMETHING for the poor services. That would be the classy thing to do. And we paid top dollar, since we had a more expensive room. Meanwhile, our friends were staying around the corner at the Waldorf Hilton. They had a problem with the electricity and had to move to another room. They were greeted with a fruit basket and given 4 free drinks for their trouble. I thought to speak with the manager, but opted not to, as I am not one to be a "complainer". but I feel that the staff should have taken the reins on this.

Room very clean and staff very accommodating. I enjoyed the gin bar. There are also a couple restaurant options onsite. The location was fantastic and I was able to walk to some attractions and many restaurants. My room was on the smaller side but it was sufficient for my solo travel needs. Would stay again!

Lobby area looks nice . The I had last 3 night was pretty good. But I am still unhappy about the first night they provide me with worst room in the property, I don’t know why . It is view the inside the building the called it the quarter, but it looks like a jell.
