We recently stayed at this home in Akumal and truly enjoyed certain aspects of the property. The private pool and direct beach access were outstanding and easily the highlight of our stay — the setting is beautiful and extremely convenient for a relaxing vacation.However, the condition of the house did not reflect the listing photos. The home felt worn, and the kitchen in particular was much less nice than the pictures suggested, which was disappointing given our expectations.While the concierge and house manager were very helpful and responsive, the on-site staff experience was unfortunately below expectations. The two cooks were disengaged and inattentive to guest needs, spending noticeable time on their phones and smoking in the lower level of the house.There is a sixth bedroom on that lower level (which we did not need to use), but anyone planning to should be aware that the area strongly smelled of cigarette smoke.Overall, the location and outdoor amenities are excellent, but the home’s condition and staffing would need improvement to fully match what is advertised.
