A really lovely hotel. Friendly and helpful staff, very well maintained and spotless hotel, our room was spacious with a fantastic terrace overlooking the castle, large well appointed bathroom. Excellent food in the restaurant. My wife is coeliac and they knew exactly how to cater for her dietary requirements, nothing was too much trouble. And the location is perfect, across the road from the castle and short walk to the local shops, bars and restaurants. Will definitely stay here again

Every thing was very good apart from car park been 2 long flights of stairs down from reception carrying you bags. Dreadful. Where told could have parked at front and someone would have parked car, well nobody there to do that and no signage and nobody to collect your car in the morning. Shame because nice hotel.

Wonderful hotel in such a picturesque town. Our suite room was amazing and views of castle fantastic. Food drinks and staff also fantastic, so intend to go back next year again for our anniversary. Thoroughly recommend this hotel for a great time away.

Its new and clean and very well thought-out, very quiet and comfortable. The food at dinner and breakfast was very good and also the service with just a couple of minor issues. The biggest concern was the car park at the bottom of the hill, with lots of steps in the dark, wind and rain : not so pleasant. Drop of luggage at the reception is strongly advised.

This is a first class hotel worthy of a Michelin rating. The service was excellent from the moment they met us, parked our car and took us to our beautiful room and expansive bathroom. The bar with cozy fire was relaxing for a pre dinner drink and to meet others. The chef delivered on quality meals and those waiting on us exceeded expectations. Left regretting we had not booked for longer.

I can't recommend the Bailiffgate Hotel highly enough. The staff are all so lovely. Our concierge, Kevin, was a delight. The team seem to be like family, they work together in such a friendly way. The building, a former school that's been extended, is absolutely stunning! Our room was really spacious. The gorgeous bathroom had a freestanding bath, as well as a walk in shower. Breakfast was delish - excellent choices and cooked to order. We'll be back!
