hotels.com mishap w. hotel

This was due to hotels.com - I actually have no reason to comment on the hotel itself because hotels.com canceled my reservation before we even arrived and were a couple hours away. There was a discrepancy in room choice due to hotels.com allowing us to book a room that was no longer available. We were happy to take the change to a smaller room but upon contacting hotels.com for partial refund as instructed by the front desk, we were told that we could only keep our reservation or cancel for full refund - after they contacted the hotel themselves. We decided to keep our reservation, even though we would have a different room than what we paid for, but upon contacting the property to verify our reservation was still in place, turns out hotels.com had canceled us and refunded our money to be returned within 7 to 10 business days. We were literally on our way to the hotel and had to scramble plans, not to mention out $900 in limbo somewhere. I have used hotels.com for over 10 years and this was such terrible service. If I had not had the instinct to not called the hotel to confirm we would have arrived without a reservation late at night. So disappointed.

Friendly and professional staffs. Easy breezy check in. Pools were great for adult and kids to enjoy. Room is nice and big for our 3 nights stay. No restaurants on site but plenty of options near and around, within walkable minutes. Big + being so close proximity to Disneyland parks and onsite with parking ($25 a day) with in/out privileges.

Hotel was walking distance!

The hotel location was excellent, a 5-10min walk to the Disney Parks. This was really beneficial with little kids who may need a break/nap from the park in the middle of the day. The location is prime and that’s really what you’re paying for. There is a McDonalds and a Mimi’s Cafe close by. There is also a small mini mart on the first floor of the hotel which was helpful. There is water playground in the hotel as well but we didnt get to use it as we were in the Disney parks mostly all day. The rooms, however, are very small and extremely outdated. The pillows and bed was comfortable. A few family members on the trip with us said their room smelled musty. Ours was okay. We would probably look for another hotel elsewhere next time (there a few options on the Disney strip that are also walking distance) but if absolutely necessary, we could stay here again.

It would be nice to have some kind of tram to take us to and from the parks other than that the staff is friendly and informative. Was able to do early check in which was a plus for us.
