Welcome to Mare Blu House a charming, modern and relaxing house with an excellent location in the northern coast. It is within an hour of 3 mayor cities: San Juan, Ponce and Mayagüez. It is with 15 minutes from Barceloneta Primium Outlets and Cueva del Indio, an archaeological site, is within walking distance from Mare Blu House. It is the perfect place to explore nature and the historic town of Arecibo. Arecibo is the largest city in geographical size on the island and was founded in 1616. It has a small airport, a lighthouse, the only drive-in theater in the Island, waterfalls, largest observatory in the world, statue of Christopher Columbus and more.

Mare Blu has seafood restaurants, beaches, bakeries, historical and archaeological attractions and local bars around. Great for large groups or small families.

Also, our house is located ina gated community, next to the Natural Reserve called Caño Tiburones, perfect for kayaking, paddle boarding and bird watching. Also, within walking distance of Cueva del Indio, a prehistoric rock art site listed in the National Register of Historic Places.

It also has a private patio and a relaxing terrace with hammocks and bar, where you can relax. Open spaces, tons of natural light and relaxing living space. Thoughtfully decorated with repurposed furniture and using natural elements to give you that peaceful and unforgettable experience that you wish to have, while caring for our environment.

The master bedroom features a king size, sofa bed, ceiling fans and air conditioning, in-suite bathroom and walking closet.

The second bedroom includes a king size bed with individual air conditioning unit for your comfort. The third bedroom features a full size bed with a trundle twin bed and air conditioning unit. Both features spacious closets, comfortable bedding and 16 feet height ceilings and natural light.

Both bathrooms use a solar water heater system and low water flow toilets and shower heads. We will provide essential organic toiletries!

The kitchen is fully equipped. The open living space has A/C as well.

***Eco-friendly- In Mare Blu House we are committed to preserve the environment, we provide reusable shopping bags, installed LED lightning, high efficiency fans and inverters A/C. We use a solar water heating system, low water flow shower heads and toilets. Organic toiletries!

Comfortable and homey

We enjoyed our stay. Although we spent most of our time visiting family and site seeing, we were excited to go back to this comfortable home, it feels like home. Our host was very attentative and welcoming.

Arecibo Family Vacation

Visit this property and you won’t be disappointed! We were a family of 6. Two parents and 4 young adults. Even after a long day at the beach there is enough space to keep the peace. The beach is a short drive and super quite during the week. The house was clean and the outdoor patio is amazing especially in the evening. I loved being serenaded by the coqui’s at night. It never gets old! Great old door space for little kids to run around too. Getting to the property at night maybe tricky the first time. It is remote and a bit isolated but safe! Property owner is wonderful she responds quickly and is very attentive. Definitely will consider this property next time I come back to Puerto Rico!

Great Family Getaway

I have been staying in Arecibo visiting family once a year for the past 10 years. We are a family of 7. This is hands down one of my favorite rental properties. Private secure and easily accessible to all beaches. Large enough for my family. I hope to continue renting for my next trips.

Family Vacation

At first I thought the property was very remote but once I became used to the area it was great. It was centrally located to all family we came to visit. The beach was a short drive away which was so nice. There was only 1 tv on the property and that was located in the master bedroom. So we couldn’t all watch tv. Forced us to play card or dominos and have a few game nights. The dog next door was such a sweet girl! It was a great week.

The only positive features of this home are the space and new tile. In the pictures you will see beautifully made beds. Don't let this fool you. The bed sheets are hiding what are at least 20 yr old mattresses. In addition this house is touted as an ECO friendly home. What's ECO friendly about not putting AC in the main living space (effectively half the square footage of the home). This forces you to turn on AC units in the other rooms (rooms not occupied until the evening)and leaving the doors open in the hope that after it has finished cooling a room with 16ft ceilings some of that cool air makes it’s way to the rest if the house. This is the opposite of Eco friendly. Eco friendly would have an AC unit in the main living space reducing the AC unit usage to one throughout the day until the evening when you actually occupy the rooms. You will notice that under Amenities washer was included. It doesn’t say washer at an extra cost. So you can imagine my surprise after booking an already paying the check in information states that use if the washer is extra and not for guest. No privacy was another issue. The front blinds are either damaged or not made for the windows they are installed in. This makes it impossible to close the windows for privacy. In addition there are sheer curtains on the front sliding glass door. This would not normally be an issue but in this case this faces the main road not a private back yard. In addition the main shower has a window in the shower chest high. No privacy frosted glass! Completely clear chest high in the shower. No TV in the main living space. Only TV in the master bedroom and somehow even though it's new no smart apps. This must have taken additional effort to buy the cheapest TV ever considering its almost impossible to buy one without smart apps that allow you to watch Netflix, etc. The host only gave us 3 bath towels. We booked a 4 night stay and yes we were only 3 people staying but she counted out 3 towels no extras just in case and then added the detail concerning extra charges if we wanted to use the washer. This is the opposite of hospitality.

2019 PR vacation

We were disappointed that the only tv in one room did not work but it turned out to be a positive because our family had more communication time. We spent all day out and came home really late so we used it to sleep and have family breakfast together then out the door for the whole day again. Overall it was a nice vacation.

Very nice, comfortable home.

We spent 6 days, we came for a funeral so really not much time to explore. The accommodations were very comfortable and the owner accessible. Will definitely recommend the property. Nice secluded area, excellent getaway,close to the beach and other attractions.
