This two-story, fully equipped dog-friendly home nestled in the green hills of Southern Vermont offers expansive mountain and valley views, beautiful in every season. Located between Bennington and Manchester, Hillside Getaway is a short drive to shopping, dining, hiking, skiing and fishing on the Battenkill.

Meals are a breeze in the updated, well-stocked kitchen with stainless steel appliances and granite countertops. Barbeque with the gas grill on the wrap around deck. You’ll be comfortable with two living spaces, one that opens to the kitchen and dining areas has a cozy wood stove, the other with large screen smart TV – both with spectacular views out every window. The home has Starlink satellite service for high-speed internet, cell phone calls and streaming. There is also central A/C and a whole house generator should there ever be a power outage.

The first floor master bedroom has a king-size bed with ensuite bathroom. Upstairs there is a full bathroom and two additional bedrooms, one with a king-size bed, the other with two twin beds.

Roast marshmallows at the firepit or relax on the screen porch, you and your canine family members will enjoy the 10 acres of nature, fresh air and sounds of the Green River rushing nearby. This home offers the best of Vermont living.

We loved our time spent in this house. There wasn’t anything that was lacking. It was clean, cozy and all amenities were wonderful. We lucked out with have snow at the beginning of our stay, which allowed our son to take full advantage of sleigh riding down the hill. Can’t wait to return someday!

Best for cozy and peaceful stay with your pups!

We were thrilled to find this gem of a place to bring our new and highly energetic rescue dog on his first weekend adventure. The place was away from the main road with so much land for him to run free. The house was so warm, extremely clean, cozy and beautiful. We loved making dinner with food we brought one evening and then had a special dinner out the second night. The views of the mountains in the distance made this place well worth the 3 hour drive for us. The host had a very helpful manual and the home had everything you need for the the most relaxing and comfortable stay. Highly recommend!

Everything you could possibly need was at this home. All quality furniture, bed linens and kitchen was fully stocked with beautiful dinner ware and cooking pieces. Not just someone’s extra mis matched pieces! The best was the view! Just incredible! Would totally recommend this home.

My family and I had a wonderful week in this beautiful home. It is spacious, well-equipped, and Sierra answered questions quickly. The house is set between Bennington and Manchester so it is easy to enjoy both towns. We would go back.

Super Home with Incredible Views!

First, this was the cleanest VRBO property we have ever stayed at! And we’ve used VRBO for over 15 years from Maine to Florida to Hawaii. It is clear that the homeowner and property manager take pride in this home. Check in was a breeze. The welcome note and chocolates were a nice touch. The views from the deck are beautiful. The house is private without feeling like you are miles into the woods. We thoroughly enjoyed the screen porch in the morning. The dogs loved running and chasing a ball around the yard, which is far enough off a road that off leash was not an issue. We used the fire pit a few times in the early evening enjoying the mountain view with a nice beverage. The kitchen is well appointed with all you need for making meals. The first floor bedroom was large enough to accommodate large dog crate. The beds, the shower, air conditioning…all good. The Wayside General Store, just about 5 minutes away is a must stop. If you forgot to pack something, they most likely will have it! We also took a drive to Weston, VT and visited the iconic Vermont Country Store. This was great! I would be sure to heed the listing advice on having all wheel or 4 wheel drive in winter or mud season. We had no issues in late June/early July. We hope to come back again!
