Located in the heart of the Zillertal valley, the village of Aschau is the ideal location for visitors wishing to explore the region and experience its many outdoor activities, from hiking and walking in summer and skiing in winter. During the winter season the surrounding region has plenty to offer for skiers and snowboarders, the closest ski area is Hochzillertal - Hochfügen which offers pistes leading directly down to Aschau and are known for excellent freeriding. Another popular ski area is Spieljoch, where families in particular feel right at home.

For those in search of alternatives to to hiking, mountain biking and cycling should visit the Kletterzentrum Zillertal (indoor climbing centre), the adventure park in Kaltenbach or the Erlebnistherme Zillertal Spa.

Directly in the centre of Aschau you will find plenty of shops and supermarkets, as well as a good selection of restaurants. A pharmacy is conveniently located just 200 meters from the property.
