Took us 1 hour to be able to get accepted into the motel with tired kids at 8pm at night due to payments from the site I booked the motel hadn’t received… apparently this was due to the motel trying to charge extra but I’m not sure. The amenities were fairly good in the room. They said there was a shuttle to and from airport and we were able to leave our car there for free that was great. However the shuttle only ran at like daytime hours and we had to leave at 4 am and arrived in back to Auckland at 1am… so it cost us more to get a couple of taxi and Ubers with all our bags. When we got back to motel, I had still not heard from the manager which he was meant to send me a PIN number so I could get the key out of hours. I had phoned him the morning and he said he would send. So we were banging on his door ringing him several times and nothing. So it was now 3am tired all of us but we had no choice but to pack up the car and drive home .. thank goodness only 1.5 hour drive but when you are tired and just wanted to crash. Turns out the manager had text me and he sent me a screen shot but it was almost like a file .. I never received it at all and my phone was on roaming and everything. With a few conversations with manager and the booking company I was able to receive a refund for that night. What an experience. But good facilities and amenities.

Disappointed in our stay, However the communication on arrival was good but thats when it all went downhill, room was infested with cockroachs, grounds untidy, dated decor and unfortunately very unpleasant stay.

The hotel was tidy and reasonably clear, very inexpensive and provided basic accommodation near the airport. The complementary airport shuttle service is great. The gentleman who answers the phone and does the pickup is very pleasant but very difficult to understand

Cons: I paid for my room in full about 2 months in advanced and the owner claimed that my payment didn't go through. I was delirious from being extremely sleep deprived and recovering from illness. Also I hadn't set up my international data package and wasn't able to confirm if what he was saying was accurate. Needless to say, I paid for the room again. After recovering the next morning was able to confirm that I was indeed double charged for my room. With a clear head was able to present the evidence to simply refund the overcharge. The owner wouldn't. Said I'd have to have Hotels.com (Expedia) refund me the money. Owner did pick up from the airport but then lied about when we'd be able to shuttle back. Online on their Google listing clearly states, "4:00am-11:59pm". He originally said to us, "only 10am". Total scam, not great first impression of New Zealand. In addition: The shower didn't drain well and nearly overflowed even with low water pressure. The toilet was broken and wouldn't fill the bowl. Luckily I am handy and got it to shutoff after each and every flush. Also, it was odd that they rented out rooms during the day. Pros: I read the reviews and indeed they have made recent renovations. The room wasn't amazing but you could see that they were trying. Stocked kitchenette with the essentials. Fridge, two burner range, microwave, and kettle all worked. Neighborhood seemed good and even did quite a bit of walking around. The owners wife was very pleasant.

Looks can be deceiving as in the photos on the website were nothing compared to when we arrived i actually thought we were in the wrong place however, our room was clean and it accommodated us but we needed a sofa or 2. We weren’t far from where we needed to go. Otherwise we were happy.

Got there with our bags, we were able to check in eventually after they saw how many bags we had to store. Cost was $20 for early check in. The room was nice, really comfortable bed. The thing that annoyed us is the advertised shuttle to airport didnt happen for.us at 430am. We were unaware of this as it said shuttle so.be aware of this if you have an early morning flight
