The house was lovely, very walkable to many things. It was a little over half a mile to the main shopping area of downtown Bar Harbor and just a short walk to a grocery store. Having reserved parking spots was a huge plus. The two separate units worked well for our group. Some of the reviews made it sound like you had to go outdoors to get from one unit to the next---the staircase was indoors, just outside the main door to each unit. There were also tons of steps from room to room (like a step up into a bathroom or a step down into a bedroom, or a big threshhold to step over into the kitchen, etc.) so it would be difficult to maneuver if there are mobility issues. Having a huge dining table was nice. We could seat 11 people at the table and still had space for a jigsaw puzzle at one end. The lightswitches in the house were bizarro---the switches weren't near the light they turned on, but we sort of figured it out. The kitchen utensils weren't great. Barely enough silverware and sort of cheap/random spatulas and things, but adequate for a rental. The listing says there is a barbecue grill, but there isn't. Overall, my family and I really thought this was a great house and met all our vacation needs. I would definitely stay here again if I ever return to Bar Harbor.
