The room was in good condition. But the TV buzzed and it was a long journey to actually get to the room—like you had to take two elevators and walk through a myriad of hallways to get to the room. It was not worth what I was charged.

It’s impossible to find a parking space. It’s even more galling that overnight parking is $35 but a valet drop off (outside front door) is also $35. So I spent 20 mins finding a space then had to hump luggage for what seemed like miles in the dark when I could’ve just handed my car key to a perfect stranger. Then we got hit for $49 to brig our pet. This really is not made clear when signing up thru Expedia. So lots of extra costs. Finally, anyone stung needs to know it’s a circus with weddings and parties going on. It’s a huge hotel and very noisy. That is all…

Some of the costs and fees were not super clear. We thought we had paid for everything in our prepaid rate except for parking but then got over $100 bill at the end with all the additional fees we were not aware of. Great spot with amazing views. Loved the gym, coffee shop and restaurant. My room felt old but was nice and clean and had an amazing view.

We were placed in a room right above the ballroom on the fourth floor, which had an event on Saturday night. We were not warned of the event or that there might me a noise issue. Despite advertising quiet hours after 10:00 pm, we heard loud music until midnight that kept us up. We weren’t able to sleep and got little sleep our first nights stay. It was quite disappointing that they would book us in a room that clearly is not insulated from events that are occurring in the ballroom. For one night of our stay, it was not worth the price. We also tried to make reservations through the concierge desk for Limewood and talked to a gentleman that took down our information. When we arrived at limewood, they did not have our reservation. We received massages at the spa the next day and we had amazing encounters for the spa. We both enjoyed our massages and the experience overall.

Claremont staff were all gracious, warm, engaging, helpful. Interactions did not feel like "corporate cordiality", instead were spontaneous and natural. When we checked in, a birthday card and gourmet cookies and sparkling water awaited us in our room. The room was spacious and well appointed with a fabulous distant view of the bay, SF and Bay Bridge. The spa and club were conveniently located with many fitness options. We swam laps every morning before breakfast.

Stayed here for 3 days/2 nights and really enjoyed myself. The room was spacious, lovely shower, good WiFi and lovely views. I’m giving one star because I was informed upon my departure that I was being charged an additional $57 PER DAY to access the pool and gym area. Literally just access. Sitting by the pool costs you $57 on top of the room costs. In no way was this communicated at booking or when entering the pool/gym area. Beware.

I enjoyed my stay at the Claremont. The front desk and Concierge were welcoming. Hats off to Effie! My classic room was on the 7th floor. I could see the Bay and Golden Gate Bridges through my dormer window. The updated bathroom was roomy and bright; the bedroom spacious and comfortable. Proximity to College Avenue led to good dining, and closeness to UCB made trips there a breeze. Having lived near the Hotel in the past, I was pleased to finally stay there.

This is a really pretty and nicely maintained property. The rooms are clean and comfortable, we enjoyed the health club amenities, the restaurant and coffee shop served great food and drinks and the views of the city and bay are outstanding.
