In a world where a lot of Howard Johnson's are closed this one is staying up strong.

The day before we booked, the hotel and surrounding area was put under a boil water advisory. This meant we could not shower or use the water. The advisory was still in place when we checked in, and this is when we were informed of the current situation. The price we paid was the normal rate, no discount was factored in or offered. Expedia customer service tried to get a refund for us, but after a few attempts it was ultimately denied by Howard Johnson management. We fully understand that Howard Johnson was not responsible for the situation they were in. The issues we have are they knowingly hid the boil water advisory from us, charged full price and denied any compensation. Business practices like these are deceiving and short sited. The well-being of their customers is not a concern, just the bottom line. Unfortunate, but not a surprise.

Room & bathroom clean. Bed was comfortable enough for the hotel rate. Breakfast SUCKED, coffee was horrible. However, overall we just needed a good night sleep after traveling and that's exactly what we got.

Smelled like cigarettes. Front desk guy very unfriendly but lady was very nice. Price was convenient for the night. No elevator & having 3 children, one being autistic & tons of bags, made it very difficult to get upstairs. It definitely took 2 trips. Beds extremely uncomfortable. Room dirty. Did I mention it smelled so horrible? My middle daughter has asthma & complained about the smell of smoke, that's how strong it was.
