Location was convenient to public transportation. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Pub and restaurant were good. Very nice breakfast available. Condition of room was not great. It was quite worn, matress was sagging, and there was a foul odor. Room was also quite small, but served its purpose for the price.

The Hotel is what it says on the tin. It is cheap and cheerful clean and friendly. The locals are great. The host is great. My partner lost his wallet, the cleaner found it and handed it in. The area isn’t the best but has everything you need with shops. Train station and a few places to eat. Very easy to check in. Receive deposit back straight away. If you need somewhere to stay for Birmingham airport or a short visit this is perfect. Thank you for our stay.

It's cheap, you get what you paid for. Only stayed for one night for a show and it did its job! Staff were great, got my deposit back quickly. Room was fine. Looked like mould in the shower. Walls were scuffed, chipped and looked like someone had punched a hole in them. Windows were incredibly grimey. Mattress was very uncomfortable and I couldn't imagine spending more than 1 night on it. But it's a bed and a safe place to stay, that was all I needed.

Only small issue I have is the bathroom as it smelled slightly damp. However everything besides this was good for a short stay, friendly staff, good access, bar next door & friendly staff. Also why does everyone have PG tips? Yorkshire tea for the win

Could do with improvements but staff were pleasant

I think that the Station Inn, if it fixes a few things, will be a very good budget place to stay. The staff member who checked me in was very polite and friendly. I was staying in room 11. The bathroom was clean and seemed ok but the shower dripped constantly and I had to put the shower head on the floor to stop the noise. In addition, the main bedroom area was filthy, with mould/splashes of something unpleasant on the wall by the window, something nasty smeared underneath the desk and a general smell of mouldy wet dog in the room. The pillows were ancient and yellow, when I pulled up the sheet to see the mattress, there was dirt and rubbish underneath. I used towels to wrap around the pillows and used both duvets to avoid sleeping on the sheets. The mattress and bed seemed to have collapsed and you could feel the slats through. The telly worked well though and it was clear they had worked on the place, but the bed, the dirt and the smell of mould are not great. Also, Stechford isn't the nicest area. I arrived late so didn't have the time or energy to complain at the time, but these are things I'd expect not to have to. However, the staff were lovely and the pub looked alright too.

Disappointed

I was really disappointed, when we got there we was given a key and due to me having a mobility badge we could park free. Its advertised as doing food, menus were in the room. We were told they don't do food, we asked for an early morning call but that never happened. Will not ho again

This is a cheap hotel and you get what you pay for. The room was basic but clean enough and all the facilities worked. My only real negative was that one of the mattresses in the twin room was terrible. It had completely collapsed and was truly uncomfortable. Luckily for me I had booked a twin room for one and the other mattress was OK, but if there had been two of us one person would have been very unhappy come morning. I did report the issue to staff who took note and checked I was OK on the other bed. They did say that they were in the process of replacing mattresses so hopefully this particular mattress is no more.
