Suite 5, Quick Stroll to Downtown

Charming mountain retreat in the heart of Black Mountain! This one-bedroom suite is perfect for couples or solo adventurers. Located just steps from the Downtown Historic District, you can easily walk to famous shops, restaurants, and breweries. Enjoy a fully-equipped space with fast Wi-Fi and a cozy atmosphere. This suite with a double bed is on the main level of the building.

Black Mountain Lodge has five units, each with a separate entrance. Unit 5 is a SMALL efficiency apartment with a DOUBLE BED (this means bedroom and kitchen are in the same room, with a small adjoining bathroom) with its entrance located on the far right side of the front porch. There are steps that lead up to the front porch. This cheerful 189 sq ft apartment has everything you need for cooking, dining, relaxing and sleeping all in one room. There is also a smart tv you can use to log into your streaming subscriptions. The kitchen has a drip coffee maker. The separate bathroom is surprisingly roomy and bright. There is 1 double bed for sleeping up to 2 guests. Due to fire zoning regulations we cannot allow cots or air mattresses on the floor.

This home is over 100 years old and sits among large, old trees. Unfortunately due to this setting, insects will often make their way into the home.

We welcome pets, and if you bring one please be considerate of other groups in the building. Please no dogs that bark if you are away. Dogs must be in a crate if left alone. Keep dogs on a leash at all times.

This is a non smoking, non vaping property. No smoking or vaping allowed inside or outside.

Please note that we do not have a front desk or concierge service. Staying with us will require some “self sufficiency”. You can self check in any time after 4pm and self check out any time before 10am on your day of departure.

We are available during reasonable hours to address any questions or concerns, but please note that we are not a corporation and do not have 24 hour staff.

This is a very old house with gas furnaces for heat and window units for air conditioning. You may hear your neighbors. But we do ask that all guests be respectful of one another.

Our address is visible for you to map prior to your booking so you can verify the location. 33 Vance Avenue, Black Mountain, NC.

Unfortunately we cannot offer luggage storage.

For the safety of our guests and our home, we do not allow 3rd party bookings.
During your stay at this apartment building, you're just a quick walk from Black Mountain Center for the Arts. Enjoy your stay with amenities like free WiFi and a kitchen in the apartment.

Definitely a great location for walking to downtown, if you don’t mind a slope or two, that aren’t bad. Great shops and restaurants! My husband and I like to sleep on double bed, but just know one person has to climb in and out or you both get up for nighttime bathroom trips:). Very quiet.

Excellent location. Very walkable to all the downtown areas. Outside lighting could be improved as it was very dark coming up the stairs. Only one small automatic light on the entrance of the stair area was working. The unit was very clean and cozy and you could actually cook a nice meal in the kitchen. Private outside deck was large and a place we enjoyed in the mornings and afternoons. The only caveat was there were only two towels, one hand towel, and one washcloth for the both of us to share all weekend. Also, the bed was very comfortable to sleep on. We would stay there again but I would bring a few towels and washcloths next time so we could have extra.

Although small, the room was comfortable and charming and had everything we needed. The kitchen is clean and well stocked (with coffee!). The bathroom has a good shower. There’s a private table and two chairs outside on the front porch. (Great place to drink your morning coffee!) It's an easy walk to downtown stores, restaurants, breweries, etc. Note this is an older house, but it’s been nicely restored.

This room was perfect for us! Comfortable and quiet! The kitchen has all of the appliances and gadgets you need. . It's a short walk to town, for dinner, drinks and music. We saw a great 4th fireworks show. I would definitely book this room again!

Loved our stay at Suite 5

My husband and I made an impromptu decision on Thanksgiving day to take a weekend trip to Black Mountain the following day and found Suite 5! Suite 5 is part of a large, renovated house and is so close to the main streets of Black Mountain, just a short walk to shops and restaurants...it is a great location! The room is fully equipped with all you need (stove, microwave, fridge, dishes etc) and has a very generous supply of coffee and tea but it's main draw is its proximity to the town and its reasonable price. If you're wondering on the size of the room, we are average sized people and didn't feel cramped at all and we loved it (we would definitely return to Suite D). The owners are so helpful and kind and will bend over backwards for you. I highly recommend this little space!
