Hotel facilities and service absolutely outstanding, balanced between comfy, modern hotel and... Obviously a former jail beautifully. Bar area and restaurant found it difficult to balance this in my opinion, hi end bar but excess to the public and dogs etc made it messy and the food in the restaurant in the evening was a little underwhelming for the money. The service was brilliant from every member of staff encountered.

Stayed three nights. First night booked via hotel. Second and third nights cheaper through Expedia…. Hotel would NOT price match as their website states!! Rooms AMAZING… but make sure you ask for a room with stone walls and ceilings to get the full cell vibe… our first room had mainly white painted walls and white ceilings… When I realised I asked to move rooms and eventually it was sorted. Reception staff friendly but need more training in customer service. The housekeeper was more helpful and professional… she was fab and should really be on the front desk or working as dining staff rather than cleaning rooms!!! Was a great experience, real unique and was fun staying in a prison and I would definitely recommend for couples and families alike!!

Spectacular hotel

We were just blown away by this amazing hotel. We absolutely loved it, the staff were friendly and welcoming, the building stunning so so gorgeous, the rooms spacious and so comfortable and the breakfast spectacular, we did not want to leave, we will definitely go again.

Beautiful hotel, very respectfully converted, and with high quality bedroom, bathroom and communal areas. Sadly let down by service standards - multiple poorly trained or disinterested staff in the bar and restaurant, with little obvious management presence to deliver the standards you'd expect for the price

Luxury Behind Bars

The Bodmin Jail Hotel is a unique mix of old prison history and modern comfort. The staff were friendly and made our stay feel special. It’s a great place to experience something different and memorable.
