Relaxing, enjoyable, comfortable stay. Across the street there is a small beach, full of colorful corals with a lot of colorful fish living in there. The island is small so you need a car, easy parking was provided at the property. Our hosts Alain and Regina were wonderful, warm and welcoming. Short drive to grocery stores, and restaurants. Alain and Regina thank you for all your kindness. Thank you for letting us check out late. And thank you for all the rich conversations. We loved staying at Orama lodge because of you.

What a wonderful stay! Alain and Regina were gracious and generous, their hospitality was beyond our expectations. We felt like we were visiting our relatives. Although we had a few heavy rainy days, Alain took us to places regular tourists do not know about, such as Otemanu open temples, artist studios, etc. Bora Bora is not too commercialized, we met people with genuine Polynesian spirit.

Our bungalow was charming and came with most things that we needed including in the kitchen. They have a washer which also came in handy. The hosts Regina and Alain are accommodating and welcoming, making you feel as if you are family. They will make suggestions for activities and Alain even took us to a snorkeling spot and another time to a garden. They are the kindest hosts we’ve ever had.

Alain and Regina are wonderful hosts who genuinely care that your experience at their home and island is exceptional. Their hospitality made our experience a 10+. They shared their culture, food, and delightful company with us. We stayed for 8 nights in their beautiful bungalow, which has all the possible amenities guests could need. We were quite comfortable and had more than enough space. It does not have air conditioning, however. If you desire, they also have several fans you can use, which does make a difference. There is also a studio on their property available for rental that does have AC. We will fondly look back on our vacation to Bora Bora.

Amazing Host, Beautiful Location and Wonderful Property

Our family stayed in The Orama Lodge in early January 2025 and enjoyed the most memorable stay. Alain & Regina are amazing hosts that truly go above and beyond for their guests! We enjoyed a lovely meal with our hosts and really enjoyed getting to know them and learning more about the island. The lodgings as exactly as described in the listing and we enjoyed the use of the bicycles and Kayaks during our5 day 4 night stay. The actuals were our hone away from home and made for a very comfortable stay for our family of 4. Would highly recommend the Orama Lodge for your stay.

We had a few great days staying at this traditional cottage. The house was spacious enough for our family, it was very well equipped with anything we needed. The veranda was a great spot to sit out and extend beyond the interior spaces. The lodge is right across the beach, which although not ideal for lounging, provides direct access to the water for snorkeling, kayaking, etc. The location is right around the point where you can see manta rays and about a 15-min drive from the main town. Before we arrived the hosts had recommended we rent a car and it was a great suggestion for ease of movement around the island. But the highlight of our stay was our hosts' hospitality! They were great to communicate before our trip, but even more so once we arrived. They welcomed us with drinks and leis and seashell necklaces upon our departure. They accommodated any question and need we had, provided kayaks and snorkeling gear and allowed our family to spread out across their property. I wish our french was better to communicate with Alan and ask more questions about the lodge that he constructed himself and his background, but we managed! Both Regina and Alan made us feel like we were family! Mauruuru roa Alan and Regina!

Un excellent séjour chez Alain et Regina, qui nous ont accueilli trÚs chaleureusement. Le lodge est confortable et la petite terrasse trÚs agréable, il y a tout ce dont on peut avoir besoin. Mais ce qui a réellement tout changé pour nous durant ces quelques jours, c'était bien Alain et Regina, leurs précieux conseils pour orienter nos visites, les sympathiques discussions sur tout et n'importe quoi. Merci pour ces superbes vacances.

Fun place on Bora

Alain and Regina were so helpful. From the moment we stepped off the plane with Lei greetings and help with the luggage back to the place. They checked up on us throughout our stay, answering any questions we had. I liked the location on the quieter northern end, it is close to the road but most places are on Bora. We cooked most our own food so the kitchen was perfect for us. We Used the kayaks and bicycles during our stay! We had five adults in our party and although it was tight we were still comfortable. Thanks for an awesome time at your place!

Paradise in Bora Bora

Alain and Regina are wonderful hosts and they have built a very special place for one to stay and explore Bora Bora from. The house is well equipped, especially the kitchen, to make everything you need for breakfast. We didn't try making dinner but we found nothing lacking for our breakfasts. The rest of the house is clean, well laid out, and exotic enough to really feel like you are away from home and doing something special. But the best part of staying here are Alain and Regina themselves. They are excellent hosts, they are partnered with a couple of local tour companies, and they can make excellent local recommendations. For instance, in 10 years of island travels, we had never seen Manta Rays. With Alain and Regina's recommendation, no problem, park at the side of the road, go into the water and see Manta Rays. No tour even needed! Best of all, they themselves are very interesting people, with Alain being a carpenter that built the lodge itself, and Regina being from the outer islands of Polynesia. They are world travelers too, and have lots of interesting stories that might just inspire your next adventure. We didn't just stay at a place for a few nights, we found a real local connection and made friends, a memory that we will cherish forever. Maururu Alain and Regina! Thank you for the incredible stay!

A nice little getaway

We had four great days at this nice little cottage. It was clean, well kept and had everything you needed. The hosts were so kind and welcoming. They met us with flowers and fruits and send us away with beautiful seashell necklaces as is the traditional way. They had great recommendations for food, excursions etc.. for our stay. Last but not the least the puppies were so adorable, our daughter had a blast with them. She also enjoyed playing in the little toy cabin. Thanks for everything.

Amazing Hosts & Accommodations

First of all, Regina and Alain are the best hosts anyone could hope for
yes, they live on the same property but we’re never intrusive or any kind of distraction. The lodge was very separated from the main house with all the necessary amenities. The lodge is perfect for one or two couples or a small family. It is located behind a gate so it was very safe. Regina and Alain made us feel like family and we’re there to help with any requests, questions or suggestions on the area. Regina speaks great English and Alain French. It was easy to communicate and you can always use your phone’s translator when necessary. We rented a scooter which was perfect to get around the island and the property is about 15 minutes from town and shopping. Alain and Regina were always ready to help with transportation of bags or just a ride. Alain even took us on a quick and amazing tour of some areas we probably would have never seen, especially the Bora Bora Masson Art Gallery, which is tucked in a beautiful hillside area. At the property, you are actually just across the road from a beautiful bay where I used one of the two single seat kayaks to paddle a couple times. Also a great area for shell searching. They also had a couple of bicycles to use as well. All in all, we had an amazing time at the Orama Lodge

Magnifique sejour a Bora Bora

Septembre 2023, Magnifique endroit, oĂč nous avons Ă©tĂ© accueillis par Alain et Regina, des hĂŽtes trĂšs attentionnĂ©s. Nous habitions dans une jolie maisonnette et nous avions des voisins trĂšs sympa de Normandie qui Ă©taient dans un studio plutĂŽt coquet . Un soir nos hĂŽtes nous avaient invitĂ© pour l’apĂ©ro. Nous avons Ă©changĂ© sur les activitĂ©s a faire et voir. VĂ©los et kayak Ă©taient disponibles. L’eau Ă©tait juste l’autre cotĂ© de la rue. C’était vraiment bien de voir l’ile du point de vue de la mer. Pour un sĂ©jour super sympathique nous vous recommandons l’endroit sans aucune rĂ©serve Dany et Jacques du Quebec, Canada

Nous avons ma famille et moi sĂ©journĂ© chez Alain et Regina, pour 6 jours. Leur accueil chaleureux nous laisse encore 2 semaines aprĂšs les avoir quittĂ©s, un goĂ»t de nostalgie. Le lodge Ă©tait impeccable, avec un arrangement minutieux qui tĂ©moignait de l’attention portĂ©e aux lieux et aux invitĂ©s par les propriĂ©taires. Nous en gardons un souvenir ineffable. Alain et Regina sont des hĂŽtes extraordinaires. Sans ĂȘtre du 'mĂ©tier', ils nous ont Ă  la fois prĂ©parĂ©s un accueil chaleureux et authentique, et concoctĂ©s un sĂ©jour impeccable: - couronnes, jus et Ă©changes de bienvenue Ă  notre arrivĂ©e, - un bungalow propre et coquet, muni de petites attentions (fleurs et bouteilles d'eau); - TOUT le nĂ©cessaire pour passer un sĂ©jour 'autonome', comme chez soi. Ça va du cafĂ©, thĂ©, chocolat aux ustensiles de cuisine COMPLETS, du linges de maison et de la literie CONFORTABLE, de la mise Ă  disposition de machine Ă  laver en passant par la lessive Ă  l'Ă©tendoir pour garder ses vĂȘtements PROPRES, de la mise Ă  disposition de kayaks/frites/bouĂ©es aux gilets de sauvetage pour profiter de la BEAUTÉ de l'Ăźle; et enfin, - la sĂ©curitĂ© des lieux. Le seul petit 'hic' est la proximitĂ© de la route. AprĂšs, Bora reste une petite Ăźle. Il y a du trafic principalement en journĂ©e, un petit peu en matinĂ©e/dĂ©but soirĂ©e. L'idĂ©e en vacances, c'est de sortir pour profiter de l'Ăźle. Avec grand plaisir, nous recommandons ce lieu. Outstanding hosts!

We are a family of 4 and spent 5 nights at Alain and Regina’s fare. We had a sweet welcome from them as they were waiting for us at the ferry. We followed them home and once settled they welcomed us to their house for some refreshing drinks. Our hosts were so gracious, generous with their time and very resourceful. They are exactly the reason why we chose their place: our daily conversations were enriching, we learned a lot about the island and its inhabitants. The fare was cozy and private. Finally, our hosts saved the day for us as I got stuck with a bad and painful back on our last day and I thought I would need to cancel our flights. Alain drive to town to get me medicine to help me get on my feet, Regina has recommended proper medication for it. Without their help, I may still be stuck on the fare’s king size bed (sweet punishment). But it all ended well, with Alain helping us with luggage and driving to ferry to help. We even received a good bye gift. Oh, speaking of gifts, they were very sweet and generous towards me and my son as we were both celebrating milestone birthdays during our stay. I can’t thank them enough for all they did for us. They truly embodied the generous and welcoming polynesian spirit! Mauruuru!

I cannot say enough about how much we loved staying at Orama Lodge. The size and space of the accommodation was perfect for my wife and I and our three teenage children and the amenities allowed us to feel right at home. The front porch area is a great place to relax and enjoy the view of the lagoon. Regarding location, there really is not a bad view anywhere around Bora Bora; the lagoon is breathtaking from every part of the island. If you like sunsets, though, this is definitely a good part of the island to be on - you can watch them from the shore (a small sandy area our youngest dubbed "the mini-beach") right outside the residence. Almost impossibly, if you love sunrise, you can go just a couple of miles down the road to watch those too! Bora Bora is small enough that the road circling it is less than 20 miles around, so there's not really a question of being appreciably "closer to" or "farther from" anything. For reference, it was about 15 minutes to Vaitape and 20 to Matira beach from here. I would, however, recommend renting a car as public transportation isn't terribly convenient. The owners, Alain and Regina, embody the hospitality of French Polynesia and made us feel welcome from the moment we met them. They really were the perfect hosts. They will give you all the privacy you want, but are also available and eager to help with any questions or issues that you may come across during your vacation - or just to sit and chat if you so desire.

Amazing!!!!

We loved our stay with Regina and Alain. The home was perfect for the 5 of us. Very clean! I can’t say enough good things about Regina and Alain as hosts! Their kindness and desire to help our stay be memorable was above and beyond! The island is amazing, the experience was amazing. If your reading my review just stop right now and book your stay. You won’t regret it. I promise! This place won’t disappoint.! Oh and there is incredible snorkeling and swimming right in front of this home.

We had exceptional hosts who met us of the ferry with garlands and had us over one night for champagne and desserts. At all times friendly and helpful. Th house could take 4 people especially with children, but we were comfortable with 3 adults. Across the raod from the water and possible to swim but better locations nearby. We found a car to be useful as 8km or so from the main town.

Here, you are family.

We spent three weeks on the main island of BoraBora. Regina and Alain were amazing hosts! We felt like part of the family. The unit was beautiful, corporal, and secure. The beach across the road was fun for snorkeling and lounging in the water. We loved every minute of our stay and will be returning again as soon as we can.

Un accueil chaleureux sur Bora Bora

AprĂšs 3 jours sur Moorea, nous arrivons sur Bora sans rien avoir planifiĂ© sauf le logement pour nos 4 prochains jours. Alain et RĂ©gina nous accueillent avec un trĂšs grand sourire et les bras ouverts. Ça donne dĂ©jĂ  la tonalitĂ© concernant l'ambiance. Ensuite visite du Fare, dĂ©coration au top, agencement au top. Quand j'y suis rentrĂ©, j'ai pensĂ© au mot cocon. Aux petits soins et gĂ©nĂ©reux en bons plans, nos hĂŽtes et leur Fare nous ont permis de passer un agrĂ©able sĂ©jour. A slice of heaven outside the tourist resorts

What can be better than arriving at the traditional fare built by Alain at the Orama Lodge, receiving beautiful flowers, fresh fruit and juice and taking in the sunset? We loved being away from the tourists and being able to jump on their bikes to ride along the coast. If you are lucky (luckier than us!) you might be able to see the manta rays that clean themselves about 1 mile from their place. We rented a car and drove down to the south end and toured the island. And were very lucky to that Regina and Alain recommended a specific family-run Lagoonarium trip, which was a wonderful highlight through Bora Bora Lagoonarium -- almost as much of a highlight as evenings on the deck, the sunsets, visiting with Regina and Alain and their grandkids and practicing french! Merci - will be back!
