This was a great hotel right in the center of downtown Salem. Location was perfect and convenient. Especially with the on site parking. Hotel was clean and client, we really enjoyed our stay!

Nice old hotel. Worth visiting.

Nice old hotel. Awesome location. Great staff. Very helpful. Clean. Convenient restaurant set in the hotel. Couple of inconveniences: First night, fire alarm went off and needed service. My wife and daughter complained about the bed being not very comfortable. It was fine for me. Little tricky to set the air conditioned. It takes some trial and error to find the optimal balance. Nothing big. Breakfast was great. Recommended.

The Hawthorne is the only place we stay in Salem. We love the history and lore. The staff is so friendly and accommodating. Rooms are cozy, clean and comfortable. Centrally located so we are able to walk to all that Salem has to offer.

Salem was a magical town all around, and the Hawthorn hotel was a great place to stay Central to everything all around. It’s not fancy, but it’s quaint, the staff was friendly and it has everything you need

It's an older hotel, but it was clean and charming. Super well located with all sorts of amenities in the vicinity. Front desk was very nice; some of the restaurant staff a little awkward. Breakfast (not included) was decent. It was busy with events (bridal showers, birthday parties) but it was quiet. Beds were comfy.

It's an old hotel, part of the Historical hotels of America, The hotel itself is beautiful, though needs some beautification here or there. My room- not so much . It was extremely small and with a view towards the other wing. The bathroom even smaller ! Quite disappointing- for $ 255 a night ! The wait in the morning for breakfast was beyond ridiculous, as they were short staffed.

Our stay was excellent. Our room ended up being top floor with an amazing view of the town. The bed was very comfortable and our breakfast at Nathaniel’s was delicious. Staying in the hotel with such proximity to all the Salem sights was perfect! Looking forward to booking again.
