Perfect spot to explore Salem

Very convenient location to be able to park and walk to most attractions. Room was clean and comfortable. Tavern restaurant was also excellent (I recommend the seafood chowder). Staying in a historic hotel is pretty cool. Loved the vibe of the place. They are celebrating their 100th year this year!

The Hawthorne Hotel in the heart of Salem Massachusetts compliments the beauty and historic nature of Witch City. The charm takes you back to classic cars and big bands. We loved the atmosphere and the convenience to the local attractions. We certainly will not pass an opportunity to stay here again.

The Hawthorne Hotel in Salem is amazing. Fantastic location, really great vibe in the lobby - feels like a fancy living room. You are welcomed to relax and read, have a glass of wine or cup of tea, do a little people watching - I've never been in a hotel before where I actually wanted to hang out in the lobby, it's usually just a place to wait. The rooms are nice and clean and quiet and have the amenities you need, you can control the heat and open the windows a little bit if you want some fresh air, beds are comfortable. This is our second year having a little 'staycation' at the Hawthorne, it's now a tradition we all look forward to.

I really love the location and atmosphere at the Hawthorne. The staff is friendly, the rooms are comfortable. The parking lot was really icy and there was loud construction that started at 8am. We'll be back!

I understand it is a historic hotel but it is tired and needs updating/ repairs. Bathroom even in larger rooms so small. One can barely turn around.
