Looking for a cozy stay when you come to the Blue Hill Peninsula to see foliage? Peak season is projected for the first two weeks of October. Equipped with efficient radiators, your fully-heated getaway awaits in Brooksville at this quaint, post-and-beam barn. There are two bedrooms - one king and one queen bed with memory foam mattresses, bamboo sheets, comforters, wool blankets, and down pillows. The two bathrooms are each equipped with dual rain-head / handheld shower fixtures and a bidet. The downstairs bathroom also has dual sinks.
Upstairs, this peaceful retreat offers a fully equipped, large gourmet kitchen, dining room & living room space, and a second full bathroom, all overlooking a meadow & water views with an additional memory foam queen, Murphy bed. The deck & building face west so prepare yourself for beautiful sunsets!
The barn is located on the same 13-acre property as the "Massachusetts House", one of the oldest homes in Brooksville. Our property has a large meadow leading to private frontage in Lord's Cove on the Bagaduce River. The barn has an elevated deck and outdoor table overlooking the whole property.
Nearby activities include hiking, kayaking, and biking in this pastoral area. We encourage you to check out the various sanctuaries on the peninsula and the Dead River Trailhead in Orland is worth the trip.
If you seek to enjoy the local food scene, Tinderhearth, one of the New York Times' "restaurants they are most excited about" in 2024 is approximately 1/2 a mile away. Bagaduce Lunch, a local standard, is close and excellent for local seafood. Northern Bay Market in Penobscot offers a great service - they steam lobsters for you to take home. The Blue Hill Co-op is great for local products.
If you must work, we have blazing fast WIFI, powered by fiber-optics to the property.
Experience the magic of Brooksville at our charming barn.
