Amara House is a four bedroom luxurious vacation house on a high street with shops, yet discreetly tucked nicely in such a way allowing for a serene ambience for great relaxation and privacy.

It is situated just 0.8 miles from the new north cambridge train station (with direct train to london), and within 1 minute walking distance to bus stops which in about 6 mins takes you right to the heart of Cambridge. You can as well go around the city by leisurely walk, along the Cam river, just 5 minutes walk away.

The House is a large and uniquely spacious four bedroom house with FREE PARKING and a 350MB Wi-Fi connection speed.


THE SPACE :
The house is intentional and creatively decorated and furnished with premium brand luxury appliances for the comfort of families, friends and corporate professionals.

The open plan living area is tastefully furnished with a solid oak dining table with 6 chairs, 2 beautiful sofas, and a 55" Smart TV with access to Netflix etc. A side double glazed French doors that leads unto a patio that forms part of a garden to the front of the house, gives the space a very airy feel.

The master bedroom had at numerous times been described as ‘quintessentially old Britain’. It has a 50” Tv and 2 double beds and high-quality pocket-sprung mattresses. It has a comfortable swivel chair and a solid oak table for work-from-home set up.

There are 3 more bedrooms, with each having been uniquely decorated with a lot of character and personality.

The bathroom and toilet downstairs are located in separately. On entering into the premium luxury family bathroom upstairs, with it’s stand alone bath, a luxury bath and shower experience immediately silently calls out to you. On this level, the toilet are as well located in separate rooms.

The kitchen is fully equipped with a large Samsung refrigerator, Miele brand appliances; including dish washer, washing machine, oven etc; a kitchen Island with 4 stools, toaster, coffee maker etc. The full range of cooking utensils indeed makes it a chef’s kitchen.

When we arrived it was very cold in the house. It seemed as if the heating was on, but the hot shower did not work either. After our inspection, the boiler turned out to have no water pressure. After our call to the landlord, the problem was resolved immediately.

Poor Location

I hesitate to write negative reviews, but need to make sure the next renters understand the house properly. The House is literally attached to, and behind, the Mermaid Takeaway on Green End Road. Looking at google maps, a new unit has been built to replace the small storage shed shown, and the green space in front of the house is now the back patio of that unit (not your unit). You are close to the street, have no privacy, and the downstairs bathroom smells like fish and chips. With it being the summer, we needed the windows open, which was less than ideal based on the location. The property description said it includes off street parking. In the initial contact, we were told to park on the left side of the parking area. Just before we arrived, we were told "a part of the driveway at the front of the house is being resurfaced to allow for east car parking" and that we need to park several minutes away on the street. First of all, there was no resurfacing being done. Both parking spaces were available for use. There was a car parked in the left spot, but was told that was a neighbors car. It was hot during our visit, and they only had fans for 2 of the 4 bedrooms. They did order 2 more fans and had them delivered to the house (they arrived on our final night). The floors in the house had not been properly cleaned. We gave our 3 year old a bath, and her feet were filthy after walking around for 15 minutes. Finally, the description says "washer/dryer" but there is no dryer

Loved the kitchen

Large kitchen well stocked with utensils and crockery. Beds comfortable and showers were hot. Good food at the adjoining fish and chips shop next door. Lovely walk to town centre along the river. Would stay there again.
