The hotel and staff there were excellent. Breakfast could be better.. I think the hot food was prepared for a 7.00a.m. opening and was singularly unappealing when i arrived at 9.00. Otherwise, cereals n fruit offered were fine

some feedback that may help improve your customers experience;- 1. Visability from street level is difficult- it is not easily distinguishable from adjoining shop fronts. Suggest a plaque at street level displaying 'Mercure' and 'Reception' will help. I drove past the entrance 3 times before asking a pedestrian for assistance. The Dry Cleaners next door dominate the visibility. 2. On check in- a diagram showing Hotell car parking navigation would be helpful. A simple diagram showing the Hotel parking is on 4 th level; follow the purple arrows; entry to hotel level parking is via the room key card; entry to all hotel levels from the car park is only via the lifts on level 4. Print this on the Room Number card. 3. A simple diagram printed on the back of the room key pass to indicate;- where to insert the card into the main power box on the RHS inside the door; where the key card pass is to be used eg. lifts; room door etc. 4. How to use the Do Not Disturb panel on the RHS of the entrance door; how to operate the AC controls. 5. The toilet paper is cheap and nasty and not befitting of a 4 star hotel. 6. The toilets do not thoroughly flush clean - suggest you leave a toilet brush next to the toilet.

Unpleasant and rudeness from chambermaids

Stay was alright, accessible to many amenities and front desk (manager) was lovely. Was about to give a good rating until unpleasantness and hostile manner of the staff members who were cleaning the rooms. The check out time was 10am, we came back 1010am (note that we have not checked out and return the cards), we came back to find that they were cleaning the room and left my belongings on their cleaning tray. I wanted clarify what was going on and was told that the front desk have not informed them that we have requested an extension and it’s not their problem. For a big chain like mercure, I find their professionalism lacking. It is inappropriate to remove the belongings when the guest has not checked out. So be wary and cautious of this.

Comfortable and in good shape. Price doesn't reflect service...or lack of...no pool or room service. Linked eating at Canberra Labor Club was a big let down. Good evening eating nearby is only open closer to weekends.
