appalled at the conditions, enough so I did not stay at the property and was forced to check back out! It was evident the room had not been cleaned to the most basic of standards, with clear sign of dirt which had accumulated over a period of time. Furthermore, I was allocated room 56, which immediately upon entering was an unbearable heat, despite the only available windows being opened.

Hotel tired but was aware of that stayed 1night as a pitstop before carrying on on our journey into Scotland, the beds very clean and comfortable although very basic it did the job staff welcoming and break fast was fine buffet style but plenty to go around, I would stay again as a 1nighter,could not moan for £40 a room plus breakfast

We felt unsafe as soon as we arrived as we were greeted by several intoxicated people in the car park, completely out of control. At reception there were several undesirable individuals hanging around. It felt very unsafe. The room was basic but clean. However the heating was stuck on and we sweltered all night as we couldn't turn it off and didnt feel brave enough to go downstairs. No toiletries. Water in shower luke warm. Loud music and people talking and shouting outside our room all night. No sleep. We didnt stay for breakfast as we wanted to leave as soon as possible. I wouldnt recommend. You get what you pay for.

This hotel really needs an upgrade and also you don't need full heating on in every part of the building, its not eco friendly. Staff are very friendly. Hotel is hot, too loud and very old and fixings are broken - broken light, bath & shower rusty and lots of mildew

Living in the 50s

I was just after a room to crash for the night on my way through. The hotel was very hot and there was no lift so had to carry suitcases up the stairs. The carpet and furniture in the room were stained. The bedding and bathroom were clean but very very old and worn.

The great thing about this hotel is the price! Staff are friendly, bedding was crisp and clean, shower was hot and constant, the room was quiet. It served us well. But there is a lot that could be improved. The windows outside were filthy, the chair was ripped and marked, no bedside lamp, just a harsh ceiling light. Breakfast was adequate. Service fine and food well cooked and plentiful but quality of ingredients a bit poor (particularly the sausages). A great price for a stopover but not somewhere i'd choose to stay for an ocassion.

Very convenient and good value. Staff friendly. Room quiet and plenty of storage and seating. Bed was a bit old, hard and saggy but still slept ok. Breakfast very good and tasty. I would stay again.

This hotel was pretty much as I expected for the price I paid. It is old and dated but perfectly OK for a short stay with everything I needed. The staff were all cheerful and very helpful. The chef made us some great scrambled eggs for breakfast.
