Pleasure Island (Carolina Beach, Kure Beach, and Fort Fisher) has become a RAPIDLY increasing vacation (and full-time!) destination for the East coast and beyond for many reasons. Itâs a family-oriented beach with a touch of everything one might be looking for! Itâs an AMAZING place to visit, live, and never leave!
The home is directly on the North End of Carolina Beach and is a long walk or short drive from downtown Carolina Beach and everything that is has to offer. In Carolina Beach youâve got the boardwalk, restaurants, and local shops of all kinds. If you like adventures, the marina is also there where you can take an offshore fishing trip, diving excursion, or party boat out for a sunset sail.
Camping more your thing? Bring the 4X4 and drive (and camp) on the beach at Freeman Park, located on the North End of the island. You can also head down to Kure Beach and fish directly off their fishing pier complete with bait, tackles, and more! The Carolina Beach Lake is nearby, hosting a weekly Farmerâs Market every Saturday and FIREWORKS every Thursday. We welcome you to sit back, relax and enjoy yourselves because that's exactly what the beach is for!
The entry to this 2 bedroom and 2 bath home opens up into a large, furnished family room combined with an open dining area and fully equipped kitchen (stove, oven and refrigerator). The kitchen is stocked will all of the basic cooking and dining utensils one should expect (plates, bowls, cups, silverware, etc.).
In addition, there is a microwave, toaster, blender, dishwasher and Keurig coffee maker ready to help make yourself at home (while on Vacay!). 1 courtesy soap, shampoo and conditioner are left in the bathroom of each home as well as 2 rolls of TP per bath, 1 makeup wipe and one backup toothbrush. 1 roll of paper towel, a sponge, dish soap, 2 trash bags per receptacle and (*as applicable) 3 dishwasher and laundry pods will be available to use if needed!
The home's TWO (2) QUEEN beds ONE (1) FULL pullout consists of either a plush luxury mattress or a new encased memory foam/cooling gel composition mattress because we want all of our guests to be comfortable when it comes time to recharge. *REMEMBER; a pullout is a PULLOUT. It will never bet as comfy as a bed for sensitive sleepers . :)
1 set of the following will be made on a per bed/per person basis to help you be comfortable on your adventure! Bed sheets (fitted/flat set), bath towels, wash cloths, cleaning rags, pillowcases, bathmats and kitchen towels. Laundering or extra sets are not an available service regrettably. Please make sure all used linens are placed in one location in the home at departure. Please let all BED LINENS remain on the beds for our TEAM to take care of! There are multiple smart TV's including a 55' TV in the living room along with a WIFI computer connection for when it's time to sit back and enjoy some movies or shows after a long day at the beach!

But the highlights of this home will make you feel 50 shades of BLUE! Your partial Atlantic balcony views and un-obstructed salty Sea breezes from an array of vantage points throughout the home truly make for a special excursion! As if partial Atlantic views, crisp morning breezes, and pelicans floating in tandem overhead less than a block away wasnât enough, a private pool shared only with your handful of building "neighbors" let's you check both the "saltwater" AND "freshwater" boxes respectively on your ADVENTURE!
Guest access
THE POOL: The pool and its amenities are privately shared by residents and guests.
The HOME: Guests have full access to their own PRIVATE unit (never shared) along with a respective deck and balcony(s).
PARKING: âąEach RESERVATION will have access to (1) assigned parking space in front of the homes garage. A community guest space is present but not guaranteed to be available as it is shared by all residents on a first come-first served basis.
âąClosest BEACH access: Sea Oats Lane Public Beach Access (Sea Oats Lane).
Interaction with guests
I will be available for check-in and general assistance until 8PM EST. Anything with the exception of an emergency (ie. flood, fire, or another *safety* related risk sent to Maintenance) will be responded to ASAP the following day :)
Neighborhood description
Pleasure Island is a coastal barrier island in Southeastern North Carolina, USA just south of the City of Wilmington. Pleasure Island is located within Federal Point Township, in New Hanover County. The coastal resort towns of Carolina Beach and Kure Beach, as well as the annexed communities of Wilmington Beach and Hanby Beach are located on the island.
"Gone Coastal" sits Marsh Front and is under a hundred feet to the nearest beach access! The home itself is short ride or long walk from Downtown CB with its shops, activities and dining. CB and the surrounding neighborhoods offer an array of sights and activities to enjoy while here. Some of these examples are (but not limited to) a subtle beach hike through CB State Park, Fishing on the KB Pier, kayaking to one of the many islands surrounding the Intracoastal Waterway, watching canons blast during a historical reenactment at the Fort Fisher State Historic Site, or petting some Sting Rays at the North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.
This doesnât even include the aweing scenery of Airlie Gardens, and our very own battleship (USS NC) in Wilmington! Perhaps more relaxing and less âadventureâ is your speed? Our own local Brewery (Good Hops) along with a round of Frisbee golf may be what the doctor ordered!
Getting around
There isnât anywhere or anything on our Island that isnât accessible with foot power. Downtown Carolina Beach has a number of vendors (such as Pleasure Island Rentals @ 2 N Lake Park Blvd Carolina Beach NC 28428 (golf carts) and Tony Silvagniâs Surf School @ 107 Charlotte ave Carolina Beach NC 28428 (bicycles, paddleboards, surfboards, kayaks) for rent as an alternative to walking or driving. Taxiâs (local golf cart taxiâs) and Uberâs are also generally available for an assist when needed as well throughout the island! You can catch a Ferry to Southport in Kure Beach @ 2422 Fort Fisher Blvd S Kure Beach which leads to another ferry to Bald Head Island where NO CARS are allowed at all!
After all, you wonât catch many locals going OTB! (Over The Bridge). Everything you need is right here!

The Town of Carolina Beach offers multiple public parking options to visitors and residents on a FIRST COME-FIRST SERVE basis. Town-operated parking is open year round and paid parking is enforced March 1st - October 31st from 9AM - 8PM. Parking fees restart each morning during enforcement hours for all of the Town's parking lots and on-street parking spaces.

GOLF CARTS
âąTo the county, golf carts are considered automobiles. Generally speaking, golf carts are NOT allowed on premises of ANY condo, condotel, or apartment. The same goes for trailers, motorcycles, etc. For SFRâs or properties supporting multiple vehicles, carts should be OK. However, be conscious that few homes have external outlets WITHOUT GFCIâS (which are code by todayâs standards). Charging a cart on a GFCI will immediately trip the breaker, resulting in the inability to charge a cart amongst other repercussions. Gas carts will generally be the ideal rental option if in a home whose parking supports such.
âąALL suites are non-smoking (including vaping) and a heavy cleaning/repair charge can result if not adhered to. This includes porches, decks, balconies, and walkways.
âąPlease always consider TRAVEL INSURANCE from your respective booking site or vendor to help protect your costs in case of inclement weather or last-minute travel complications (court, illness, etc.). These items are NOT refundable scenarios unless the property itself is compromised. If that does happen, we will do our absolute best to find you alternative housing.
