Welcome to "Carolina Joy"! This single family, 3-bedroom, 3-bathroom home is located on the north end of Carolina Beach. A 30' boat slip and amazing views of the sound make this property the perfect spot for your next family vacation! Owner uses left side of boat slip. Guest should use right (South) side of boat slip. There is a brand new 16' x 16' gazebo with lights and furniture, along with 30 amp shore power. Note that the dock was extended to allow for 2 extra feet of water depth.

The great room of this house features vaulted ceilings with exposed wood beams and a charming open floor plan that floods the living space with natural light. The new owners are also updating furniture throughout. You can enjoy sound front views and watching boaters navigate the waterway from the beautiful kitchen that boasts a cozy rustic décor. The kitchen overlooks the living room and a dining area that leads out to a generous screened in porch with panoramic views of the canal. A small desk enables travelers that need to work remotely a great workspace with a relaxing back drop. Just imagine sipping your morning coffee and watching a pod of dolphins swim by or dining at the outdoor table with a spectacular sunset dazzling on the water.

The spacious primary bedroom features a new mattress for the Queen-sized bed, beautiful stained-glass accents and a Jacuzzi tub that overlooks the water. Guests of this room will appreciate the on suite bathroom, TV, and direct access to the screened porch. Two additional Queen guest bedrooms with private bathrooms are sure to please your family and friends. The partially fenced in backyard gives a great space for outdoor entertainment. Make sure to bring your yard games – there is plenty of space for volleyball, cornhole, badminton, and grilling. There is a large area underneath the home that is ideal for shaded relaxation and provides an enclosed outdoor shower.

Fishermen will certainly appreciate the boathouse and pier. A public boat ramp is conveniently located just around the corner and there is ample parking for your boat trailer on the side of the house. Some guests rent gas golf carts to ride up to the beach or up to our legendary Carolina Beach Boardwalk where you find shops, restaurants, and an abundance of summer activities such as fireworks, carnival rides and live music.

Make plans today for a lifetime of memories! This home is close by Freeman Park so if you have a four-wheel drive vehicle, bring it. This is one of the few beach areas where you can actually drive out onto the beach.

Occupancy: 8
Stay Requirements: Saturday to Saturday rental in the Summer. Minimum two night stay other seasons.
Bedding Configuration: 3 Queens, Sleeper Sofa
Parking: Parking for 4 vehicles, or three vehicles and a boat trailer. Do not park on the lawn.
Prohibited: Smoking, Parking on the Lawn. Mail and Packages are not able to be sent to the rental.
Pet Policy: Pet Policy: Dogs welcome as an optional add-on for this property with a non-refundable fee of $250 + tax that is charged per pet. Maximum of 2 dogs per reservation. Charge will be added after booking when the option to bring a pet and number of pets are selected. Nonrefundable fees are listed in the House Rules and animals must be disclosed via the Rental Agreement. Fees are not included automatically when booking on VRBO and must be paid separately to the host if you wish to bring a pet(s). Failure to disclose and prepay for dogs will result in penalty fees which are disclosed in House Rule #16.
Cancellation Policy: Full refund within 24 hours of booking, cancellations at 31+ days before check-in will receive a full refund after a $350 cancellation fee is deducted, cancellations at 15-30 days before check-in will receive a 50% refund of monies paid less a $350 cancellation fee and less than 15 days prior to arrival is not subject to a refund.  All policies are subject to possible additional refund based on re-rental, excluding non-refundable cancellation fees and travel insurance (if applicable).

Bryant Real Estate, established in 1952, is a professionally operated firm that is licensed in North Carolina and hired by the property owner to manage “C259– Carolina Joy” as a vacation rental.

Nice stay and everything. One thing was a problem for us was the owner or somebody had a boat at the dock while we were renting the house and felt “watched” the whole time we stayed there.

Great place to bring your pet to the beach

We enjoyed our stay at Avalon...the backyard, pier and porch were the best things about the location. Would suggest that the property owner get new mattresses as they were very uncomfortable.

We have stayed here several times over the years and Are still in love with it. The sound side flooding was a bit inconvenient but we adapted. That screened in porch and the view of the canal and boats is so peaceful! We’ll be back!

Carolina Joy is a JOY!!!

This is our second time staying at this property in the last year or so. We love Carolina Beach and try to come down a couple of times a year for 6+years now. To date, this home is our favorite! Clean, well maintained and fully stocked with needed items. Felt comfortable and welcoming. Pet friendly too! The views are awesome of the canal. Highly recommend this vacation home!

Love the Dock!

Great house for water toys. The back porch and dock are great places to hang out and watch the boats go by. If you have kayaks, SUPs, etc. you can launch them from the (private) floating dock. Downtown is within dinghy range if you have a motor, and you can tie up for free at the municipal dock.

Great location but needs clean up outside

Have enjoyed our 2nd stay at this property and we would return. Would ask that the owners clean up the water area from the storm. It had been 6 weeks since the storm and the yard and water area was strewn with debris. So glad the pier and dock were fixed but the screens on porch and pier building needed much repair. We couldn’t use the pier building because of bugs.

Will not rent again due to being mislead about the furniture which was not as shown. The fridge was old and rusty. The dishwasher leaked and had to be repaired while we were there. House was very nice (Back porch is exceptional) but overpriced for this time of year in my opinion. Realty company that manages it was responsive but refused to offer any reduction in the rate even though we were inconvenienced by the lack of comfortable furniture. I ended up going out and buying a small ottoman in order to have a way to put my feet up and get comfortable.

The house was lovely, clean, and the kitchen wares (pots, pans, utensils) were well-stocked. Fenced in backyard was perfect for the dogs. Quiet with beautiful views of the lake. Close to Freeman, the aquarium, and boardwalk. Only issues were that the couch is less than comfortable, the TVs had limited functionality, and there were no trash bags (which isn't something you'd think to bring). All in all, it was a great trip, and I'll definitely start my search with Bryant for our next trip to the shore. Thank you!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Right from the start. The 2 bedroom had dirty mattress covers so we washed. Then one mattress had some blood stains and it looked to be urin stains so we flipped and the other side only a little better. That bed was never used. The other mattress was flipped because it had some stains. The tvs only were good for movies or older channels. We never got local new or national. Someone left grapes on the desk and clothiers in the hamper.

THings that could be improved would include the mattresses. They were very uncomfortable and not sure we would rent it again because my husband ended up sleeping on the sofa.The guest room door needs to be WD40 - squeaked loudly. Kitchen was fine and house was clean. We had trouble getting into the house as the code we were given didn’t work. Your emergency line helped us get in fairly quickly....but I was very concerned that we would be locked out on a cold rainy night....our first night in the place.

Never again with Bryant Realty

The house was nice but the Bryant realtors ruin my experience. There is no southern charm with this group. There contract was nothing but threats. There was no sheets on the beds they wanted another 20+ dollars for sheets which is ridiculous! There were no towels I had to go to Walmart and buy towels so myself and kids could shower. The water and power was turned off at dock with no help from the office. Made me download there app to enter the home. Another little trick so they send advertisements and more threats. Threatened to fine me if I left to much trash in the trash cans. I've rented several places on the Carolina coast and always had a great experience. I will never rent a place with Bryant Realty involved or any other management company. These type people are destroying the south and the good old southern hospitality.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This house was great for our family beach week. 3 full baths is really nice to have. We loved having our own dock for launching paddle boards and enjoying the sunset. The fenced in yard was perfect for our dogs. The AC worked great, no issues with WiFi and we loved the new pull out couch and tons of counter space. The fan on the screened in porch and the rocking chairs are a really nice touch as is the outdoor shower. The house was clean upon arrival and there were enough linens for all. the driveway has plenty of parking for all. We did not use the grill but it was there and stocked with charcoal. A few things we would suggest - a hose at the outdoor spigot near the garage would be great for rinsing off beach stuff before the trip home, the kitchen is fairly bare bones (only 2 bowls for 6 people was odd), and we saw a fair amount of palmetto bugs (not unusual for Carolina Beach especially with the really rainy weather we had, but perhaps more frequent spraying would be good), and the mattresses on the beds were really hard. Overall, this is a great house, we enjoyed our stay at this home, and we would stay here again!

Christmas Vacation 2018

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Had a great time at the beach for our Christmas vacation 2018. Had a few issues with property. No hot water in one of the showers, roaches in the house small and large, kitchen not set up with smallwares, hot water heater to small to use jetted tub in master. Feel like we should have received some type of credit for all of the items listed above. Reported issues to Bryant Realty but they did not make any concessions for inconveniences at rental unit. When we came home we left all luggage in our detached garage to make sure we did not bring roaches in our home. Reading the guest book all of our concerns had been mentioned numerous times but owners and Bryant Realty have not corrected issues. If they correct all of the concerns, this would be a prefect property. It has a very nice great room for the family, all bedrooms are large, has a great view of the intercostal waterway. Very good beds and furniture.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was more than happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We were fortunate to have the warm front come through during our week between Christmas and New Years. The best part of this house is the expansive screened porch along the backside of the house, overlooking the waterway. There are large windows also across the backside of the house, affording pleasant views from living/dining/kitchen area. This is a dog-friendly house and as such there are always compromises. There are small issues with the house interior. Slightly annoying but nothing overt (light bulbs out, toilets running, storm door won't latch,5 tea kettles but worst coffee maker ever!, etc.) - that a visit from a handyman couldn't rectify. There should be a sign on the front door to "mind the step down" - each of us (and the dog) tripped on the way in! The 3 bedrooms are very large. Pay attention to high tide. The last 2 days the street was entirely under water and we couldn't leave until the water receded - the road was closed. This doesn't happen daily, as the first 5 days were fine. The walk to the beach is a few easy blocks away. Overall we really did enjoy our stay.

Charming, Private and Perfect

Truly a hidden gem. Off the main beaten path, this home is a private oasis. We loved the backyard, dock and screened-in porch. The open kitchen / living room was great for watching over kids and being together as a family. The furniture is dated and uncomfortable inside, but who stays inside at the beach? Had some water bugs on the first day but the management company sprayed immediately, thank you for being prompt! Overall great home, would recommend.
