Always a good time in the Banana Stand

Great and easy check in process! I would recommend letting guests know in advance how well stocked the place is so they don’t bring unnecessary stuff like coffee maker, blender, etc. Good WiFi too!

Nice Place on the pond

This beach house had plenty of room for our family, 2 seniors, 2 adults, 3 kids under 7, and 3 dogs. We enjoyed watching the turtles on the pond, sunset and the pool was next door. Beds were comfy and kitchen well stocked with necessities. My only disappointment was, the AC went out on day 2., inside temp was 85. The repair people couldn't fix it. The management notified us at 11:30 at night that we could move to another unit. A bit late to be moving 3 sleeping kids and our belongings. We waited till morning. Packed up, tidied the unit and moved into the new unit. This was a bit inconvenient as we couldn't make our scheduled morning activities. We would defiantly come back if the AC was repaired.

Great getaway!

Wish there was better direct access to the beach but if you're just out for a stroll, this is perfect. Too far away though to carry all your stuff with you LOL. Gotta rent a cart (unless you want the salt on your vehicle). Right beside the pool, great for the kids we had along with us.

Great Property!

fun spot, great house very close to beach! Bedrooms and bunks were great with lots of space to spread out. Kitchen/eating area was super tiny, table wedged in front of the fridge in a very small area BUT if family dinners are not your bag, this place was perfect! -ad says propane grill, but was not propane. Other than, that our stay was great, the management company was SUPER easy for check-in and out process also. The outdoor area downstairs is really cool too, lots of covered area with a great view of the pond and two awesome decks to sit on!

Spacious and Good for Family

We always enjoy staying in Port Aransas. Even though the weather was not at its best we made the most of it . The home is large enough for a big group and great for families with children and dogs. I had a few concerns the sheets in the beds could have been better as they felt like sleeping on a vinyl shower curtain and the comforters were worn and tattered. The mattresses in the bunk rooms 3 and 4 were not the best for adults but fine for children (they are like a foam squishy and no support ) We had issues with roaches both large and small . The dishwasher lower rack does not roll well in the tracks , the oven lower drawer kept coming off track , the outside porch light was not working , there was no fire pit or Alexa as indicated in the manual at the house or listed online . The outdoor lights downstairs have many bulbs burned out and we found they people from other homes wanted to use the downstairs restroom on our unit while fishing or at pool area . Friday of our stay maintenance showed up to exterminate and work on one of the tub /showers that was supposedly not draining . (We never used that tub ) we advised we were cooking at that time and getting ready to eat and would prefer they wait to spray for bugs once we left that following day which they were nice and said yes they would . The kitchen has more than adequate utensils and paper goods were supplied well. All in all the home is good and a nice place to stay Judy needs some touch up and new linens .

Roach-ie Issues

We spent 2 nights in the property. Our group spotted and killed 12 roaches during that time. New flooring has been installed in the property. A lovely choice but unfortunately the baseboards were not removed prior to install. This has left gapping cracks around all the walls. We witnessed the roaches scurry away into these unsealed gaps. Dishwasher doesn't work well. Not enough cutlery for a group of 12. Outdoor patio lights are mostly burnt out. Tub/Shower drain is very slow in draining. There isn't any instructions in the unit how to access the beach. We went to the public access a mile up the road, but the neighborhood access points were neglected in the rentals manual. Quiet time is listed until 9am our first morning the neighboring property - managed by the same company started operating a table saw at 8am. Our second morning it was before 8am. The space and layout was lovely but I think the owners should be made aware that the unit could use some attention.

Banana stand getaway

Our experience started walking in to a cute blue, yellow, and gray-themed beach house - it is adorable and in a great location! Cons: smoky smell overwhelming the space, dirty sheets with hair and bugs, that had to be changed again after our arrival, missing propane grill that had been appropriated by the neighbor, a missing smoke detector, an AC on the fritz and a broken hammock are what we got with this rental To be fair, the rental company responded extremely quickly every time we had to call - but we have never before had to call so much! Pros: next to pool, close to beach, lots of sleeping spaces. Overall, with the response and ability of the rental company to rectify what they could, our trip was mostly enjoyable. This was probably more due to our attitudes and the fact that we were with family. The unit needs new bedding and some attention to be able to give it 5 stars.
