I was required to undertake a pre-check in online, so when I arrived at the hotel and found no one on reception, I went straight to my room. The receptionist came and found me later! The hotel looks to have been newly refurbished. It was vet clean and everything was in good condition. The room was a single but had everything I needed for a one night stay. The bed was comfortable and I had a great night's sleep. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend to anyone. However, I cannot comment on the bar or breakfast as I did not use either.

Was given a code for access to the room, placing hand on a reader then inputting the code given. Excellent for security, very impressed. Staff where very friendly and accommodating. You can tell alot of money has been spent on the hotel, new carpets and decor. Rooms where very clean, beds very comfortable. Breakfast was very nice, plenty to choose from. Less than a two minute walk from Derby Railway Station. Will definitely stay there again. Mark

Never again. 3rd floor room and no lift! Hotels.com- I booked the room through you, I shouldn't then have to pre register AND be forced to supply a passport number, there is no valid reason for it, especially with identity theft as it is now. You need to start carrying responsibility for this being communicated. Also, manager said it was on the website that there was no lift. I found it was, not in the hotel info though, hidden away in the policy's section. Ridiculous. I witnessed the manager/reception (unsure which) being rude to older people who couldn't understand her. Furthermore- They give you an access code to your room, and as I'd pre registered, I went to the room, why would you go to reception? The lights would not switch on. I walked back down the stairs from L3 to be told I should have come to reception first. So what's the point of pre registering, giving away personal info, getting a room code THEN still having to go reception first? Also, room was very hot, only a small window opening and a fan to assist. Terrible. But the wifi was good.

Room was basic, but you get what you pay for. Bed was very firm. Staff pleasant enough, but not able to bring anything to your room that might be wanted/needed/missing. No power near the bed for a phone charger, shower was insecure, toilet leaked, lift out of service, no tea bags. Reception telephone number didn’t work, booking line can’t connect you. Nobody to report it to when checking out. Car park was convenient but you’ve got to pay for it and it’s not cheap.

The room is a decent size and the bed was comfortable. The shower was ok but the water wasn't very hot in the morning. Parking is quite expensive - nearly £10 per night. If you like curry then you're spoiled for choice with 4 Indian restaurants in 5 minutes walk but if you fancy a change then you're out of luck. Although it's on the main road opposite the railway station it's pretty quiet - I was able to leave my window open at night without being disturbed. The lift wasn't working for the 3 nights I stayed.

Clean and comfy bed only

First I didn’t really understand the receptionist English And then I have been given a third floor room while the lift was out of service, the room was looking a bit oldish but the bed was comfortable. The temperature in the room was high like a sauna because the towel rail in bathroom switch off doesn’t work, luckily we found two fans in the room but they were dusted , the carpet was not cleaned. Properly and the trash bin was disgusting, at least we asked for ice they said they didn’t have !!!!

Our experience at this hotel was awful - so bad we ended up leaving a night early. I wouldn’t recommend staying here to my worst enemy. We experienced many issues here: - The free parking that is advertised is not, in fact, free and is quite expensive - The lift in the hotel doesn’t work, no messaging or advertisement of this online. This makes rooms very inaccessible to those with mobility needs - No one ever seemed to be at the front desk, we had to wait ages on two occasions to be served despite hearing staff laughing and chatting in the lobby. The one time we did get to speak to someone right away he was hostile and patronising - Our room smelled like cannabis, and the windows were shut so it had clearly been smoked in the room - the room was FILTHY. Dirt everywhere, no cleaning had been attempted to have been done. - The room was excessively hot. No AC and opening the window didn’t fix the issue. It was like 30 degrees in there and it was cold outside!!!! - We only had one towel and did not get a second despite being two of us. There is instructions within the room to leave towels in specific places for cleaners but our room was never cleaned. When we asked about this the hostile man told us we had to ask for our rooms to be cleaned? There was no messaging about this and the signs in the room indicated the opposite. Disgraceful - The shower was fluctuating between scalding hot and freezing consistently and was unusable We requested a refund and were declined.
