False advertising

overall it's a decent service apartment but I was left waiting 2 hours to check in even though when I booked, it clearly stated there's 24 hour check in. When I contacted Hotels.com, they called the hotel but as the staff could not speak English, he hung up on them. And Hotels.com did not have any Chinese speaker! The service other than the check in was generally prompt and friendly.

This is not a complaint - just a comment: poor to no English from all staff including reception. Right in the Korean restaurant area, obviously caters for Chinese and Korean guests. Room was ok. Quite clean but a bit run down at the same time. Good to have a family mart downstairs. If you speak no Chinese or Korean, give it a miss. There would be plenty of better options than this one.

Subpar attitude by reception desk, ended up changing 3 rooms as we thought it was "Non Smoking", until we found out that there is NO non-smoking rooms in the entire building. We left and found accommodations elsewhere.

Great, no problems.

I had to stay here as I locked myself out of my apartment so it was very short notice, I arrived late without my passport which was in my apartment, they didn't like me not having a passport with me, luckily my Chinese girlfriend convinced them to let me stay after contacting the ever helpful Hotels.com customer service who faxed across my details to the hotel. The room was great for the price, it was basically a full serviced apartment. This would probably be a great place to stay if you are visiting Shanghai and have an early or late flight from Hongqiao Airport as it is fairly close and cheaper than the official airport hotels.

Expensive overnight stay before early flight

The condition of the room and facilities was not great, especially considering the amount we paid, but the location was ten minutes or less from Hongchiao airport so very convenient for an early morning flight. Only about 20 RMB or so in a taxi. Breakfast was also included if you have time and the front desk is open 24 hours although the bell hop was sleeping on the sofa when we arrived.
