Trying their best but falls short

This was my 2nd reservation through Hotels.com. I realized that the hotels do give large rooms for booking through this service --but the rooms are always terrible. The room I was given (239 I think) was filled with mold and smoke. I have asthma so I couldnt even stand it. I walked back to the front desk and asked him to switch me to a different room, even if it was smaller room. he did, then he came upstairs with me - he didnt believe me so he wanted to check himself. he walked into the room and his first words were - OMG this is moldy and smoky. the second room that i was given was oky- no smoke smell but still was in poor condition- ceiling had some water damage and the shower was held up by duct tape. In the morning, as I was chcking out I spoke with an older gentelman at the checkout - he told me that they knew about the room- aparently some people stayed there with their emotional support animals - dogs and cats...room has not been the same. Even though it is the largest room that they have and it is pretty large....it needs to be remediated. Now knowing this - why would they provide it to people? They need to take it out of circulation and not give it to anyone else. If I had gotten sick due to mold/fungus, then what? Anyways, they are trying to do their best but it is the people with pets (so called emotional support animals) who had destroyed the room- seems like they need to be charged much much more for deposits.

Enjoyed my stay

I’ve stayed in other hotels in this area, this has been my favorite by far. It’s clean, inside as well as the grounds. The rooms are spacious. They have a limited breakfast but there are hot waffles. The pool is in repair (until the end of March!) unfortunately and that was my negative. I would stay here again.

I didn’t like that the hot water ran out very quickly everytime I took a shower! The power chipped out for about 10 mins or more without any explanation on what was going on. I felt like the communication about what was going on with the hotel could have been a little better. Also the old couches in the rooms needs to go.was very iffy to sit on the couch because of the condition on how it looked.
