The suite was huge with a separate bedroom and large lounge. Spotlessly clean and every member of staff was very friendly and efficient. The room was a little tired and would benefit from a refurbishment

The property is old and has a lot of features. It was a year ago when I stopped there last and they were measuring up for new carpet which quite clearly did not happen. The menu was not great in either bar or restaurant and very expensive. I can see why not many people were using it when before it was packed. The staff as usual were brilliant. I had a noisy room above the kitchen and was moved very quick. Thank You. Over all the value is brilliant. We will be back

Convenient for a short stay. Received upgrade to a suite, which was lovely except for a broken bath tap - so no bath possible - and excessively hot room, even with radiator turned off and the window left open all night (in December!)

Hotel is in need of refurbishment - we stayed in the old part of the hotel and both our rooms were very tired with worn, damaged furnishings and a dated bathroom and decor. In both our rooms the curtains did not fit the windows properly so we were woken up early by the sun. The shower took a long time to get hot and due to it's positioning it was really hard to adjust the temperature which was also very inconsistent. All taps missing their tops so hard to tell which was hot and cold and if you were running the correct one. Our toilet dripped and ran all night so had to keep bathroom door shut which was awkward if you got up in the night as the handle was the style that doesn't turn and you have to push or pull hard on it to open or close so a bit noisy. I dropped something that rolled under the bed and when I went to retrieve it I saw several sweet wrappers and a tube of lip balm in addition to the dust. Overall we felt the room was overpriced. Breakfast was reasonable for the price. We wouldn't stay again unless a significant refurbishment was completed.

Everything was just right for us.

Pros: Everything!
Cons: As far as we were concerned - nothing.
Location: Walking the promenade, viewing the gardens, plus the day we spent in the dock area, the museum, all were so enjoyable
Everything was just right for us - location to sea and shops, and cuisine, brilliant.
