Relax and unwind in a peaceful rural retreat with modern comforts and a warm, rustic charm—perfectly located near the best of Northern Michigan. Just minutes from Fife Lake, Kalkaska, and the vibrant attractions of Traverse City, you’ll enjoy easy access to sparkling lakes, scenic trails, farmers markets, wineries, and year-round outdoor adventure.
Summer and fall are especially magical here—spend your days exploring local hiking and biking trails, browsing farm stands, or discovering area festivals. Then return home to relax in a hammock with a good book or gather around the fire pit to share stories under the stars.
This newly built, private basement apartment is thoughtfully designed for comfort. It features a cozy king bed, a spacious living area, and a large television for movie nights or rainy-day relaxation. The living area features a thick cozy queen FUTON should you need extra sleeping space. Note a futon is cozy but may not be suitable for people with back pain. Great for those who don’t 😉. The well-equipped kitchenette includes a medium-size refrigerator, electric stove, microwave, air fryer, plus all dishes, glasses, flatware, and spices you’ll need for easy meal prep. Prefer to grill? A 4 burner propane grill sits out side your entrance. Hosting a special stay? The owner is happy to stock the fridge with your favorite items upon request.
The home is located on 5 acres with lush green grass, a canopy of trees, flower gardens and a pond in a semi private cul de sac just a 1/4 mile from M66.
You’ll have private access via a short walk from parking in the quiet cul-de-sac to the basement walkout entrance. The walk is about 30 feet and has a slight incline down. Currently the walk is over grass, but a paved path is planned for mid summer 26. The owner lives upstairs with two friendly golden retrievers and is available on-site to answer questions—while always respecting your privacy. If you’re feeling social, you might even enjoy sharing a glass of wine or a local craft beer.
