Four days have passed with no reply from Eden Oak to my email identifying my poor experience. I see other guests have identified the same issue as me, yet Eden Oak continues a practise that guarantees their guests will have a terrible night stay. Here's the email I sent:
My partner and I stayed Saturday night at your beautiful hotel. We enjoyed everything about it - except trying to sleep.
We were in Room 202 which connects directly with an internal door to 205. Unfortunately for us, the person or couple in 205 were talking loud and late and I had to call the office number at 2am to come and give them a noise warning. They immediately quietened and I was able to sleep.
They weren’t partying, just talking loudly which just should not have been an issue. These rooms should not be available to book independently - the internal doorway means that there is no soundproofing at all.
I discussed this on departure and the kind front of house recommended raising this via email.
I’d appreciate a goodwill refund or credit.
