The house is nestled in a quiet residential neighborhood, just a few minutes from the center of Guidel and its shops (supermarket, butcher shop, fish market, bakeries, newsstand) as well as its traditional Sunday market.

A 7-minute drive away is the seaside resort of Guidel-Plages, featuring large, lifeguard-patrolled beaches, a Carrefour Express, a bakery, restaurants, bars, a tobacco shop, a large playground for children, bike rentals, a water sports center, and more.

For bus travel, the “Kerbastic” stop is served by Line 263 heading toward the town center and Lorient; during the summer, a second line (50) runs specifically along the coastal road.

When it comes to restaurants, the Groom team will be happy to recommend the best spots along the coast and in Lorient, which you can also find in your digital welcome booklet along with reviews, information, and directions from the house.

- Beaches: Guidel Plage, with its water sports, marina, and restaurants. The large Fort Bloqué beach is 5 minutes away. Many other beaches are less than a 10-minute drive from the accommodation, including the large Fort Bloqué beach, Pérello Beach, and Anse du Stole.

- Water sports: Guidel Plage is known for its water sports, including surfing, windsurfing, and kitesurfing. At the marina, you can rent jet skis, towable tubes, and more. The large beach at Fort Bloqué is ideal for all kinds of water sports: stand-up paddleboarding, canoeing and kayaking, windsurfing, kitesurfing, as well as diving around the fort or, for the more experienced, spearfishing for spider crabs and lobsters. Equipment can be rented on-site.

- Access to the Customs Officers’ Trail, the famous GR34, which runs along the entire Breton coast on foot; direct access to the Laïta, a magnificent inlet that extends inland, with a hiking trail running its entire length.

- Ker ar C’hoari Recreation Park: a small children’s park with inflatable structures, a giant maze in a cornfield, and wooden play equipment, just a few minutes away. Open in July and August.

- Lannénec Pond: The largest body of water in Morbihan, surrounded by greenery. You can enjoy a peaceful stroll near the sea around the pond along a marked trail.

Finally, the coastline is ideal for trying your hand at shore fishing as the tides come and go—crabs, shrimp, horsehair crabs, or cockles—and we’ll be happy to recommend the best spots for shore fishing.

- Lorient: Located a 20-minute drive from the house, you can take a trip to visit Eric Tabarly’s “Cité de la Voile,” the naval base, the harbor, and the port of Lorient, or simply stroll through the pedestrian-friendly downtown area or along Place Jules Ferry. Every August, enjoy the famous and unmissable Lorient Interceltic Festival with its concerts, parades, shows, and entertainment in a festive and sunny atmosphere.

The large market in Merville, featuring fresh produce straight from the Lorient fish market, is open daily from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM for foodies and gourmets alike.
