Grøndalen is a beautiful and elongated valley, about 10 minutes by car from the center of Hemsedal. The valley consists of a unique cultural landscape combined with rugged and varied nature. The mountain regions are the wildest and most spectacular you can reach within three hours drive from Oslo. The mountains stretch for miles in all directions and almost everything is a protected nature reserve. There are great hiking opportunities both in summer and winter. There is also swimming and fishing during the warm months here.

In winter, skiing is available in the area and summit tours are arranged with experienced tour guides under the auspices of the Solheisen Ski Center.
