IMPORTANT NOTES

A/C Notice

Hale Mahina Resort does not have air conditioning.

Each room is equipped with ceiling fans and benefits from natural trade-wind breezes and jalousie windows that allow excellent cross-ventilation throughout.

CONSTRUCTION NOTICE:

A number of sinkholes have appeared on the property which restricts access to the lawn in some areas. These areas are cordoned off for guest safety. In 2026, repairs to the seawall will begin and will continue into 2027. The work will involve excavation and seawall reinforcement work with heavy equipment. The ambiance of Hale Mahina will be affected but we will try to maintain access to the beach area on the southside of the property. Check back for updates on the progress and view the webcam on Hale Mahina’s website for a real-time picture of the work.

PEST CONTROL AND ROOSTERS

Due to Maui’s rural location, you may experience the occasional rooster or harmless gecko. Geckos are friendly, eat insects, and are considered good luck in Hawaiʻi — please don’t harm them. The HOA provides regular pest control, but insects and lizards are part of island life. Our units are meticulously cleaned and inspected. Contact us if you experience more than normal activity — we’ll coordinate with the HOA to help.

HAWAIʻI CLIMATE

Hawaiʻi’s tropical environment supports small island wildlife, including geckos, ants, and roosters. Despite regular pest control, these are part of normal island living.

Any contact with such pests does not constitute a breach of agreement or qualify for refunds or adjustments.
