Very spacious and comfortable living and dining rooms. Well equipped kitchen. Comfortable beds. Very helpful host. Just right for our family group in the area for a wedding.
Large comfortable house in very peaceful, country location. Plenty of space of a group of 8 friends, which meant we enjoyed a relaxing, chill-out weekend. Very grateful for the constant warmth from the kitchen aga which helped to offset the chilly weather.
Lovely cottage in the British countryside, the place might be a bit old-fashioned but very confortable for a larg group (we were 9). Kenneth has been very helpful and is a highly recommended host.
It was a late booking that Kenneth accommodated us for, we were a party of 7 for a quiet hen party.Lovely quiet location, plenty of room for us to play games etc. House itself is a bit tired but well equipped. Ken is very thorough in his show around and how things work.
Was exactly what we wanted somewhere quiet to stay with the family for pre-christmas celebration. Had not realised it was Arga for cooking, but have to say it was easy to use, and cooked our evening meal excellently.
Would book again.
10 of us stayed here for a new year and it was lovely. The house is very big and has lots of space. The living room was lovely with a fireplace. It is an old house so there were a couple cobwebs and dustiness is some places but that is to be expected. Ken was a lovey host to welcomed us at check in and explained how everything worker, for example the Arga oven and heating system. Would recommend for families and large group of friends.
Ken was really amenable to our slightly chaotic arrival time logistics (we had people travelling from across the country, and traffic caused it's issues), which we were really grateful for.The house itself offered the perfect space for what we needed but was SO cold on arrival. Ken had put the heating on and lit a fire shortly before we arrived but the house was far off warming up and many of the radiators weren't particularly effective (we suspect bleeding some of them would have helped but there was no radiator key available when we asked). We had a good few hours of shivering, despite keeping doors and curtains etc. closed (as advised) before the house reached an acceptable temperature.Everything feels a bit tired - the towel rail in the bathroom was in a pretty dire state, for example. While some vintage features lent charm to the property, some fixtures/fittings are in desperate need of modernisation/updates to make this property deliver what it could/should as a place to escape to.
