Absolute worst experience. I booked this apartment for a trip to Houston to visit Texas children’s hospitalFor my child. After traveling for four hours with my 3 year old and 9 month old, we couldn’t wait to finally get to our rental. The host advised us that the unit would be unlocked and the key would be inside. Upon getting there, unloading all of our things, and getting to the unit, you can imagine our frustration at finding that the door was locked. We arrived at 5:30, called the host and was unable to reach him. He finally returned our calls nearly two hours later. As you can imagine, we didn’t have time nor the patience to just sit around with hopes that the host would returns our calls. Our children were exhausted and hungry. We wound up booking another room at a hotel a few blocks away. The host finally returned our call nearly two hours later and stated the cleaning crew made a mistake and locked the door and left the key on the light. I told him we had already booked and checked into another place as we couldn’t just sit around waiting for a return call and to cancel our stay. Upon checking out bank accounts nearly two days later we realized we were still charged for this room. I called VRBO who reached out to the host who lied and said he gave us the instructions. Well the instructions he gave clearly states that the unit would be unlocked, I have proof of our interactions and multiple calls we made trying to get in touch with him. DO NOT BOOK!
