Iron Horse Lodge is a private 6-bedroom, 3-bath retreat set on 50+ wooded acres in the Arkansas Grand Canyon. The home sleeps up to 20 guests comfortably, featuring 3 king beds, 2 queens, 2 twin-over-twin bunks, 1 single twin, a full-size fold-out sofa, 4 fold-out twins, and a floor mat. Inside you’ll find a full kitchen, large dining area, open living space, and a dedicated theater room with a 10-ft projection screen and sound bar. Outdoors, enjoy the large porch with an over-sized porch rocker, gas grill and griddle, fire pit, hot tub, and seasonal pool surrounded by natural beauty.
DEN:
The den is our "theater room" complete with a projector, 10 foot projection screen and Klipsch sound bar. Every TV at the lodge is a ROKU TV set to guest mode so that you can log into your own streaming apps. The room boasts a large modular sectional with multiple seats and ottomans for maximum capacity and a giant "Big Joe" bean bag for additional seating (also a wonderful place to curl up with a book and look out the large windows for beautiful scenic views and "eyes on" the pool). Please use the provided couch caddies for your drinks and snacks. (Rag towels for spills & carpet cleaner can be found in the hall closet on the main floor.)
DINING ROOM:
The den flows directly into the dining/kitchen and living areas. The dining room table can seat up to 12 guests, and an additional table is near by in the corner of the living room for more seating capacity and for game playing (puzzles, cards, etc.). The dining area has immediate access and visibility to the kitchen, living room and den. (Additional chairs, a high chair, and boosters for toddlers are available in the garage.)
LIVING ROOM:
A spacious living room is the central hub for the lodge. From the living room you can access the dining room, kitchen, den, front door entry, main level bathroom and bedrooms and the staircases to both the lower and upper levels. This space houses the unique "motorcycle" coffee/tea bar, dramatic vaulted ceilings, expansive windows and a stunning stone fireplace featuring our handmade welded elk head. There are two tufted sofas, an additional seating area cozily tucked in one corner and a game/dining table in another. From this room you can keeps eyes and ears on most of your family and friends throughout the day!
KITCHEN:
The kitchen is fully stocked and equipped for all of your cooking needs: refrigerator/freezer, double ovens, stove top, large microwave, air fryer, crock pot, instant pot, ample pots, pans, woks, dishes and cutlery, plates/bowls/cups/silverware for children, bibs, storage containers, strainers, salad spinner, serving dishes, baking dishes, cooking sheets, pizza pans, cutting boards, muffin/loaf pans, seasonings and cooking/baking staples such as flour, sugar, brown sugar, powered sugar, oil, vanilla, baking soda/powder, etc. Grab your groceries on your way to the lodge and you will be set!
THE LOFT:
The lodge offers a third living/gathering space on the upper level - the loft. In the loft there is a children's table equipped with 4 children's chairs and a basket of coloring/drawing materials; a desk for those who need to log in to work, an additional ROKU television and 2 small sofas/loveseats. If you have a large party, you can easily gather in three different "living" spaces for comfort and activities. Send your kids to the loft to watch a show as they color and interact with one another and while the adults enjoy the living room and den, watching a movie on the 10ft projection screen or playing a game or putting together a puzzle at the game table.
THE PATIO:
The large patio extends the full length of the lodge offering 2 dining tables which can easily accommodate up to 12 guests, a gas grill and griddle, an over sized rocking chair (perfect for keeping an eye on the kids, reading a book or even taking a nap), 2 mounted fans (for those stifling hot days) beautiful string lights for evening ambiance, and a retractible gate for child safety. The wooden patio flows directly onto the concrete patio where you can enjoy the pool, hot tub and fire pit.
THE POOL:
The large Iron Horse Lodge swimming pool is one of few in the area and graduates from 3 ft to 8 ft in depth. In addition to the retractable gate on the patio, the pool is surrounded by a fence for an additional layer of protection. However, it is of utmost importance that you have eyes on your children at all times and never leave them unattended. Lounge chairs are available allowing you to keep an eye on the kids as they play in the pool or on the grounds. Inflatables and beach towels for the pool, cushions for the chairs and a bluetooth speaker for playing your favorite music can be found in the garage. There is even a floating device for your drinks and phones (but don't trust it to stay afloat if pool activities create waves!). Be sure to return those items to the garage after each use or at the end of each day in case of rain or strong winds. If your stay is extended and the hot tub becomes cloudy, etc. there are daily dose chemicals located above the beach towels with instructions for use. It is rare to find a pool in such a secluded and wooded area. As a result, don't be surprised if dirt/debris is blown into the pool during your stay - and possibly even a little woodland creature (most likely a frog)! We do our best to keep the pool stabilized and clean. Please help us by not abusing it. Encourage your children to use the bathroom before entering the pool/hot tub. :)
HOT TUB:
The hot tub is available year round and can accommodate up to 7 guests at a time. Please do not leave children unattended in or around the hot tub and pool. Instructions for hot tub use and single use chemicals can be found in the garage above the beach towels. A solar lit towel rack is available for hanging your towels while enjoying the hot tub. Please close the lid properly (using the bungee balls) so that strong winds can not blow it open when not in use.
FIRE PIT:
The fire pit is located near the pool and hot tub. It is a propane fire pit. Be sure to turn the propane on before use and off after use. An additional propane tank is available in the garage should the fire pit or grill/griddle run out.
THE GARAGE:
In the garage you can find many items that might be useful during your stay: an additional refrigerator/freezer, additional dining chairs, a high chair, a learning tower (metal pins are hanging on hooks for the learning tower), booster seats, cleaning supplies, trash bins, pool inflatables, water guns, toys, bluetooth speaker, ping pong, pickleball, croquet, seating for watching ping pong, cushions for outdoor seating, beach towels, grilling supplies, hot tub chemicals and more! There is even a compressor available for your use should inflatables need more air.

BEDROOMS:
The lodge has six designated bedrooms.
The master bedrooms suite on the upper level is a true haven with a king sized bed, recliner, seating area, vaulted ceiling, ceiling fan, designated a/c, large ROKU TV and on suite bathroom equipped with a walk in shower, towel warmer and bidet.
There are king-sized beds in each of the two bedrooms on the main floor. In addition, each bedroom has 3 full-length windows, a chair, a luggage rack, a mirror, a fan, phone chargers, and a hamper for your used linens. A full bathroom complete with shower/tub is available for these two bedrooms to share.
One the lower level there are three bedrooms:
The kids room, complete with 2 sets of twin bunk bed, a fold out couch (for a full bed) and a floor mat (for another full bed) that serves as a soft landing under the rock climbing wall! You will also find a bean bag, a ROKU TV, puzzles, books and toys.
The bedroom at the end of the hall on the lower level is what we call the Parent Room because, in addition to a queen bed, large ROKU TV, luggage rack, mirror and fan, there is a play pen, play pen mattress/sheet, sleep pod (for blackout), noise machine and baby monitors. There is also cardboard in the closet to be used as window inserts for complete room blackout if needed during the day.
The third bedroom on the lower floor has two beds: a queen and a twin, easily accommodating three sleepers. A luggage rack, fan and mirror are also available in this rustic/adventure themed room.
In the large hall closet on the lower level are additional fold out cots and mattresses should your party need additional beds. Please let us know in advance if these are needed and we can have them set up and ready for you. A full bathroom with a garden tub (with jets) and shower is available on the lower level. A non-slip additive has been added to the tub for safety measures.
BATHROOMS:
As mentioned in each bedroom description above, there is a bathroom on each level to accommodate each floor. Each of these bathrooms has a heater built into the wall. Be sure to turn it off upon exiting the room. A hair dryer, towels/wash cloths and hand towels can be found under each sink.
LAUNDRY FACILITIES:
The laundry room can be made available to you for your stay upon request. There are two washers, two dryers, detergent and bleach available. There is also a sink for soaking or spot cleaning items.
