The Space:

Wickham's Wake is a pet-friendly, three-bedroom, two-bathroom cottage located in the Wild Coast Cottages community of Port Renfrew. Surrounded by temperate rainforest, the cottage offers comfortable accommodations with views toward the inlet and ocean from many areas of the home and outdoor living spaces.



The open-concept upper level features a fully equipped kitchen, dining area, and cozy living room with a propane fireplace, Smart TV with Netflix, board games, books, and comfortable seating. Large windows and the spacious deck provide a wonderful place to relax, enjoy the surrounding scenery, and watch the sunset over the inlet. A full bathroom is also located on this level.



Downstairs you'll find a second full bathroom, laundry facilities, and three bedrooms. Two bedrooms each feature a queen bed and walk out to the covered slate patio, with views toward the surrounding forest and ocean. The third bedroom includes two twin beds, making the cottage well suited for families or small groups. Each bed is made with fresh linens, duvets, and a selection of pillows for your comfort.



Wickham's Wake offers three outdoor living areas for guests to enjoy. The upper deck is furnished with Adirondack chairs and overlooks the surrounding rainforest, inlet, and ocean. The covered lower patio provides a sheltered space to enjoy your morning coffee or unwind with a book. A third seating area is located below the cottage and is accessed by cedar steps. This cliff-side space includes a wood-burning fire pit (when fire restrictions permit) and offers another place to relax and enjoy the property's natural surroundings.



Please note that the lower seating area is situated within the natural rainforest environment. Vegetation and views may vary throughout the seasons as the surrounding landscape naturally changes.



The Neighborhood:

Wickham's Wake is located within the Wild Coast Cottages community. This is a neighbourhood of individually owned cottages, so there are neighbouring homes nearby. While you'll have exclusive use of the cottage and its outdoor spaces, neighbouring properties may be visible, and you may see or hear other owners or guests enjoying their own cottages.



Each cottage in the community is privately owned. Some are vacation rentals, while many are used exclusively by their owners and families.



If you're visiting friends or family staying in another cottage, please return any dishes, chairs, games, or other items to Wickham's Wake before you depart. We also kindly ask that you respect the privacy and property of our neighbors throughout your stay.



Getting Around:

A vehicle is highly recommended for exploring Port Renfrew and the surrounding area. While the community itself is small, many of the region's most popular attractions are best reached by car.



From Wickham's Wake, you're just a short drive or walk to local amenities, including the Port Renfrew General Store, Bridgeman's Bistro, the Pub, Pacific Gateway Marina, and the Government Wharf.



Port Renfrew is known for its world-class fishing, hiking, beaches, and old-growth forests. Popular nearby attractions include Botanical Beach, Avatar Grove, Fairy Lake, Lizard Lake, Juan de Fuca Provincial Park, and numerous scenic forest service roads leading to lakes, rivers, and hiking trails.



Please note that Port Renfrew is a small, remote coastal community. Grocery options, restaurants, fuel, and other services are limited compared to larger towns, and some businesses operate reduced hours or seasonal schedules. We recommend purchasing groceries and specialty items before arriving or planning ahead during your stay.



Roads to and within Port Renfrew are paved and accessible by standard passenger vehicles. As with many rural communities, wildlife sightings are common, especially at dawn and dusk, so please drive with care.

Please note that Wickham's Wake is an oceanfront-view property. There is no direct beach or ocean access from the cottage.



🌿 Rainforest Setting

The cottage is nestled in the temperate rainforest of Port Renfrew, surrounded by nature. Our team thoroughly prepares the property before every guest arrival, including removing cobwebs, leaves, pine needles, bird droppings, and other natural debris. However, because the cottage is located within the natural habitat of local wildlife, these elements can return quickly—sometimes even between cleaning and your arrival. This is part of the unique experience of staying in a coastal rainforest.



Please note that while the maintained yard around the cottage is cared for regularly, surrounding trees, native vegetation, and the natural bluff are intentionally preserved. As a result, views and vegetation may naturally change throughout the seasons. 📶 Cell Service & Wi-Fi

Port Renfrew is a small, remote coastal community with limited cellular coverage. Complimentary Wi-Fi is provided at the cottage, and we recommend enabling Wi-Fi Calling before you arrive if your carrier supports it. Messaging and calling apps such as WhatsApp, FaceTime Audio, and Messenger also work well over Wi-Fi.



Cell coverage is generally available with Rogers and Fido, while Telus coverage may be limited depending on your location.



During peak travel periods, internet speeds may occasionally be slower due to increased demand within the community.



🌲 Remote Coastal Community

Port Renfrew is a small, remote community with limited shopping and services. We recommend bringing any groceries, personal items, and specialty supplies you may need during your stay.



🧂 Kitchen Essentials

We do our best to keep basic cooking essentials such as salt, pepper, and cooking oil available. While these are often stocked, availability cannot be guaranteed. If you notice supplies are running low during your stay, please let us know.
