🌊 BEACH INFORMATION

The beach fronting Royal Kahana experiences seasonal ocean current changes that affect its size and accessibility. During fall and winter, sand may temporarily wash away but typically returns in spring and summer.



Our HOA, the County of Maui, and the State of Hawaii continue working to restore Kahana Bay. If beach access is limited, a public beach access is located within a 5-minute walk. Photos from 1/16/23 show useable beach, but this is not guaranteed.



🦎🐓PEST CONTROL AND ROOSTERS: Due to Maui’s rural location, you may experience the occasional rooster or harmless gecko. Geckos are friendly, eat insects, and are considered good luck in Hawaii — please don’t harm them. The HOA performs regular pest control, but insects and lizards are part of island life. Our units are meticulously cleaned and inspected. Contact us if you notice excessive activity, we’ll coordinate with the HOA.

Located in Kahana on West Maui's coastline, this condo is less than a half mile away from a sandy beach at Pohaku Beach Park. This resort is surrounded by shops, restaurants, and beach rentals all within walking distance. A short drive away is Kapalua to the north and Ka'anapali to the south for more expansive shopping, dining, golf, and beaches.

Beach views were great. Condo was spacious slightly dated but expected this.! Pool was great! Wine opener was broken...I had to go buy one. I asked the front desk concierge but they said they weren't allowed to help with this issue so I bought one. I wasn't thrilled about the required paid parking fee 21/ day. at this particular Condo resort " Royal Kahana. " I felt the condo was clean but not as clean as it could have been.

Excellent condo

This unit was everything they said it was! Everything worked as it should and was in good condition. Communication with managers was always timely and well explained. Cost was higher than we had ever paid but at least it was in good clean condition.

Favorite VRBO Yet!!!

We stayed at this property for 6 nights & wow! The ocean was so close & very easy to hear, no matter what time of the day it was. Very nice pool & pool chairs were abundant. The king bed was comfortable. Easy access to a grocery store that has everything (2 miles away). Coffee shops fairly close by; plus a McDonald's too. Of course, don't forget to explore Maui!

3 weeks in Paradise!

Had a wonderful stay in Kahana!!! You couldn’t ask for a better view! The unit had everything we needed for our time there. The pool was the perfect temperature and the barbques were so clean. It is a very well maintained building. The owners were very responsive ( within minutes).if we had any issue. We were very happy we chose this unit for our vacation and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend or re book it!

Ocean front apartment is best

We loved the property. The sunset view and moon light on the ocean is remarkable. The apartment is clean and very functional. The size is very comfortable. We had the best memory of Maui during our stay. We will come back again!

Wonderful!

Great place, right on a good beach, very nice swimming pool, and outdoor grills to cook outside. It is not a large resort with all the extra frills, but it is in close proximity to other resorts and to more great beaches on the NW side of Maui for snorkling and diving. The beach in front of the property was in very good shape and it is accessible in spite of the signs that say to the contrary. The apartment is very clean and great for a couple. There is a closet full of snorkling and beach equipment. Everything was here that we needed.

Beautiful view! We couldn’t use the safe but the owner sent repairmen to try and resolve it. The bathroom/shower is a bit small but the property had all you need for a great vacation!

10 Beautiful sunsets

We have stayed in many vacation rentals. Reading reviews and picking the right one is time consuming. Breakdown: Amazing View, lots of whales sightings & gorgeous sunsets! Suggest you bring a great pair of binoculars if staying during whale season. There was a pair in the condo but they didn't work well. Wifi worked 90% of time. Husband was able to work remotely from condo. Condo was very spacious & king size bed very comfortable (not too soft or too hard), (we did not use fold out couch). I appreciated that the bathroom area can be locked off from master in order to not wake anyone. Shower: great pressure & plenty of hot water. The AC was not working in the entire building while we were there due to a previous storm. We found that we did not need the AC to cool the condo, the cross breeze was enough, but having to keep windows open it was very loud not only from people in pool area below but also from garbage trucks, Gardners, motorcycles etc. We ended up buying a box fan to block out noise (owner was kind enough to reimburse us). The condo is much quieter when all the windows can be shut. Access to the condo is via quick elevator, luggage carts available, easy check in w/ door code made it nice to not carry a key. Plenty of parking. Outdoor pool/bbq and lounge area is all great. This area was clean & really nice, grills scrubbed clean each day. Beachfront was still accessible in Feb. We enjoyed many turtles swimming right in front of us. Pool is heated. Washer/Dryer was great to have too. Kitchen was a bit disappointing in that they really do mean bring EVERYTHING. No salt/pepper, only a few dishwasher pods, laundry detergent, paper towels & all are very low grade/quality. Kitchen had adequate pots/pans/utensils/blender, but again, low quality. Dishwasher did not clean dishes well. Don't forget to buy oil or butter if using pans. There are tiny ants that will reach all countertops. I hate to mention this because you would be hard pressed to find anywhere on the island that does not have ants. I could smell the insect spray when we arrived so I know they try to control the problem. The closet has one boogie board, nice cooler, pool noodle, great snorkel gear and 2 very old & uncomfortable beach chairs. The snorkel masks are full face kind, which are amazing and work so well. Be sure to rinse before use as the closet is sprayed with bug spray. Repairs reported: living room screen door broken & TP holder off wall.

Spectacular ocean, island & property views!

We travel quite often and have stayed at many places and we have to say, our stay here was one of the very best! The condo had everything we needed and the view from our balcony was absolutely wonderful! We seen an abundance of whales and turtles from our balcony view or our view from sitting down by the beach. We walked the beach daily and enjoyed the pool and shuffle board! Within walking distance of groceries, restaurants and shops and easy driving to anywhere else on the island! Dan & Shelly provide an abundance of useful information, as well as great restaurant and site seeing tips. Highly recommend vacationing here and would definitely stay at this location on a future trip to Maui!!!

Great experience all around!

The property was exactly as described, and the condo was very spacious and comfortable all around. We arrived very late, but did not have any issues with parking or check-in - everything worked out properly and exactly as described. Condo was a very pleasant space from beginning to end. The owner was very available, pleasant, and helpful on app messaging and SMS when we had a question. The area is nice and quiet, away from the crowds and traffic, but still within a very quick drive from everything we wanted to do. Great place to stay whether you're on a busy and adventurous trip like us, or want to stay back and relax! I definitely recommend this stay to anyone.

Sunsets galore

Great location. Every basic need you need. Conveniently located to beach, stores and restaurant. Pool area is nice. But the best part are the Sunsets. They are amazing from your own balcony as it sets behind Lanai!! Owners are very quick to respond if you need anything.

Great Location and View!!!

We had a ton of fun at this VRBO and really enjoyed watching the sunsets over the ocean! Would definitely consider staying here again! Only small complaint was there seemed to be an ant issue in the bathroom and kitchen. Didn’t stop us from enjoying the trip but was concerning at times. There was an open container of sugar in the pantry that I got rid of that could have been the cause. Other than that, can’t complain!

Great condo in a great location. Nicely appointed with enough room to spread out for our family of four. Kitchen was great for cooking meals when we wanted to eat in house. Shelly and Dan were very communicative and all aspects of the rental worked seamlessly. Pool was great for swimming and waterside cocktails and sunsets.
