The resort is outdated with very noisy air conditioner compressors. Sleep in the bedroom is impossible as the compressors are turning on every 15 min with the loud squeaky noise. Ironically, the central air conditioner control panel was not working so we couldn't adjust the temperature. The rooms are dark, facing a parking lot. The bedroom window was never cleaned, its disgusting. Our vacation was ruined, we should stay elsewhere else

Very good location, very close to the beach, with beautiful views. The area is clean, with a pool, jacuzzi, and barbecue. The one-bedroom apartment is nice and has a kitchen with everything you need, just like at home, including a washer and dryer. Everything was great, the only issue was the ants. But I think they will fix that. For this price, everything was good except for the ants

I would like to give this property a good rating however the air conditioning situation was a deal breaker. I wish it were advertised as no ac. The hvac system is shot so they had one portable ac unit in the bedroom when we arrived. This unit was rusted inside and had mildew. It made the room smell of mildew. We put up with it the first night but in addition to the mildew if would throw itself into a fit where it went from a normal but loud ac unit to what sounded like an airplane taking off. Clearly broken. I asked the property manager about it the next day. They were quite responsive but brought in an equally old unit. Thw maintenance man had also attached it to the exhaust hose with blue masking tape which got warm and fell off in the middle of the night releasing hot exhaust into the room. We woke up sweating bullets. We tried to reattach the exhaust hose three times waking up sweating to death each time. I called the property manager again. Again they were quite responsive sending maintenance. The maintancw man came in with more masking tape. He did not speak English well but after showing him some pictures and a bit of body language antics he came back with some metal duct tape that did a beautiful job. We got ac in the bedroom that night thank God. Unfortunately the next night the ac unit started leaking condensation. By 2am the floor was flooded. We emptied the unit of water but it continued to flood. The windows are locked shut too. We gave up.

Just about everything we needed was there. The in-room washer/ dryer was a bonus. Room for 4 with 2 full baths. Nice size room with fully equipped kitchen including dishwasher. The was also private parking which is a bonus in Kapalua. Would definitely stay there again.

They emailed asking for my eta and phone number to send me a text when unit was ready but no one ever texted or responded to my email follow up. I wouldn't have minded, but they offered this to me but then didn't uphold. Turns out they're not open on Tuesdays, so they have you use a courtesy phone on the wall, give you a code to get a key out of the box (where there are several other welcome envelopes so they could easily get taken by other guests), and then they ask you to read your credit card aloud over the phone outside on a porch of a little closed office. The unit we had was ok. The pictures are much nicer than in person. The blankets were as thin as an average bath towel. The ac blows DIRECTLY on you so I slept upside-down in a hoodie every night. The murphy bed mattress is the quality of a sofa bed. The tv remote was not the correct remote. I called the desk and she sent over maintenence, and the guy was just kinda like well yea that's the wrong remote, and we were like correct this is why we called... Not that we spent a ton of time watching tv in Maui but it's not crazy to expect the remotw in your unit to work. The location is pretty far northwest even though it says Lahaina. It's basically Kapalua. There is a grocery store up the road and it's a stone's throw from the beach which was great. Washer and dryer were clutch! Not sure I'd stay here again but it was affordable and fine.

We really enjoyed our stay at Gardens at West Maui. The location was great — close to beaches, shops, and restaurants. The unit was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. The best part was having a washer and dryer in the unit — such a nice bonus during the trip! 🌟
