The Hideaway at Kern is a one-of-a-kind property featuring private beach access to the famous Kern River. The prime location of this home -- only minutes away from dining, shopping and entertainment – makes this location truly remarkable. This destination is perfect for a romantic weekend getaway or fun and adventure with family and friends. As you enter through the private gates, you will be welcomed by lush and stunning landscaping perfectly framing the Sierra Nevada Mountains which can be seen throughout the property. This rustic home embodies mountain living while featuring all the amenities of modern comfort. The spacious floorplan and magical 360 views includes a well-stocked kitchen, a large outdoor patio, steady WIFI, and a very exclusive private beach. There is a spacious garage to park your cars or unload you bikes. You will also have access to a washer and dryer, which is available for your use during your stay. You will have access to the entire house and will have everything you need for your riverfront staycation.

The Space:
Guests will enjoy full access to this entire classic and cozy home featuring 3 bedrooms and 2.5 baths. The large open floorplan provides a seamless transition from each space while showcasing outstanding views of the stunning Kern River and Sierra Mountains perfectly framed by floor to ceiling windows. The kitchen comes fully stocked with working appliances including a large refrigerator, dishwasher, stove, oven, and microwave. We have also included a flex brew coffee pot which can brew your favorite Nespresso or Keurig K-cups, a variety of which is provided with your stay. Nestled next to the kitchen is a cozy formal dining table perfect for family dinners, playing board games, or completing a puzzle. If you’re looking for a more casual dining option, the kitchen bar provides ample seating. A large outdoor patio is also available for al fresco dining next to the roaring river. Prepare your food in the kitchen or fire up the gas grill provided.

The living room showcases comfy and casual furniture curated for a true rustic mountain aesthetic. Guests can cozy up by the fireplace perfectly framed by picturesque stones, take in the serene nature views, and stream your favorite series on a large 60” Flat Screen TV with pristine sound provided by Sonos™ sounds system. All major streaming services are provided including Netflix, Hulu, and Disney+.

The home can accommodate a maximum of 8 guests’ total. The master bedroom features a luxurious Purple Mattress™ for supreme comfort, large walk-in closet, as well as an ensuite master bathroom including a large soaking tub and walk-in shower. Just off the master is a spacious home office with a large desk with marvelous views and private reading nook. Another bedroom features a queen size bed with an attached balcony overlooking the pristine landscape and rustling sounds of the roaring Kern River. The third bedroom features two full size beds all with comfortable bedding and linens. In addition to the ensuite master bathroom, there is another full bathroom containing a combo shower/tub and we have stocked the bathrooms with essentials like body wash, shampoo, conditioner.

About Kernville:
Kernville is a historic town made famous for the world-class white-water rapids of the Kern River. The sunrise over the eastern ridges will wake you gently to start your day. Adventure abounds for those who seek it. Hiking trails, kayaking, rafting, nature walks, mountain biking, fly fishing, Kern River Audubon Preserve, Sequoia Forest Giant Redwoods, Isabella Lake, Salmon Creek Falls – even a quaint chairlift ski resort less than a half-hour away - are all right here in the incredibly diverse Kern River Valley. Fishing for the extremely rare, remarkably beautiful state fish of California – the Golden Trout – is only found in the upper reaches of the Wild and Scenic Kern River (License Required). Kernville also features an amazing selection of local eateries, including the award-winning Kern River Brewing Company.

Guest Access:
Guest will have access to the entire house.

Parking is available with a spacious 2 car garage, as well as a spacious gated driveway.

Quiet neighborhood, absolutely no parties allowed. Please respect our neighbors and friends in this quaint community.

Check in and check out times are firm to allow adequate time to clean and sanitize property between guests. We can arrange early check-in/out in advance for an additional fee.

Trash will be removed from the property by cleaning crew at the end of the stay. Please contain inside the garage through the duration of your stay as there are lots of animals and we want to keep everyone safe, especially local wildlife.
