First the staff......very accommodating, attentive and warm. The hotel is renovated and quite impressive. Breakfast was great! Then....my recommendations- My husband and i stayed in an accessible room that was not so accessible. The room was very clean, beautiful and well appointed. But the big beautiful bathroom needed some changes to be truly accessible. I wrote these down and left my suggestions for the management.

Restaurant food was good. No towel rack, clothes closet, chair for desk. Sliding glass door to the public deck was difficult to slide and one door lock didn’t work. Manager was slow to investigate door problem, and a clerk 2 days later told maintenance about the problem.

Disappointed on first sight that it was not an historic(meaning old) building. However the story of its renovation by Carpenter and Gutierrez is interesting and commendable. Restaurant menu sounds amazing but we were not hungry after sitting in the car all day.

The hotel was great.. if you have large suitcases or health issues, there is no elevator on premise. Make sure to ask for first floor!

This is my second stay, and it is every bit as good as the first. The rooms are well appointed and very comfortable, the tavern is fantastic, and the staff are wonderful as well. An awesome place to stay, especially after a long day on the road

Too much noise from the restaurant

Exceedingly noisy. The layout of the hotel doesn't take into account the extreme noise from the restaurant. It's like an echo chamber. What a waste of my time and money. I doubt I will get any sleep tonight. I'm very disappointed.

Room on the 2nd floor with no elevators made it difficult for us seniors to haul our luggage up and down the stairs. The young woman at reception had offered to assist when we checked in, but pride prevailed. Oddities in the room 007: NO closet or armoire or anywhere to hang clothes anywhere. No drawers for clothes either. No shelf in the shower for soap/shampoo so you had to put everything on the floor of the shower. Nice bar/bartender at the Tavern and dinner there was good. Breakfast needs more attention. Coffee tasted like hot water, and was that powdered eggs?

great remodel!! heard the restaurant is wonderful too but did not eat there. have stayed at the Cow Palace when I was a kiddo. Room was a balcony room and was very nice... a few things could be changed/added for better utilization. No makeup mirror needed by the sink, in the bathroom the tile needs to be fixed in the shower, the shower door needs a water block on the title base and a bench in the bathroom would fill the space nicely. maybe find a double vanity to replace what is there. Just some ideas from a guest.

Do yourself a favor and stay elsewhere

The room smelled horrible, while trying to get breakfast, our room was cleaned by staff, removing sheets, bedding, and towels before we checked out. Unable to shower after eating and coming back to find everything was gone three hours prior to checkout. I would not stay here again nor ever suggest anyone does it is not worth the headaches of dealing with this place.
