Honest Review of The Marine Hotel I recently stayed at The Marine Hotel and the experience was disappointing overall. The room was very basic and missing several simple but important essentials that would have made the stay more comfortable. Main issues: • No plug sockets next to the bed, which is inconvenient for charging devices. • No shelf by the sink, so nowhere to put toiletries. • No proper place to hang towels. • The TV aerial was useless — the signal kept cutting out and made the TV basically unwatchable. These are all small, basic things that really add up, and it felt like the room hasn’t been thought through for guest comfort. Because of that, I wouldn’t stay again.

Lovely hotel, great location. The staff were 1st class, very friendly, and helpful. The hotel is in need of some TLC though, especially the windows, some of them were very draughty. We stayed in a lovely spacious with a sea view. We ate in the restaurant for 2 nights, food was very nice

Staff welcoming and polite, bar and restaurant nicely decorated. Room had a lovely view but very hot as was the bathroom. Didn’t seem to cool with radiator turned down. Bed was comfortable and the single room sufficient for my needs. Shame the pool had quite restricted hours of use. Could be a fabulous hotel with a bit of modernisation

It was dark and cramped. Bathroom sooo small, could hardly stand to towel dry. We ordered Mozzarella sticks as a snack and were served ones containing Jalapenos which made us both ill. We were not told about the change of flavour. Not good at all, it ruined our holiday. Sort out your Chef!

Nice clean room overlooking the seafront, comfortable bed, shower wasn’t great as the cubicle was really small and the hot water took an age to come through as it wasn’t electric, but good overall. Good variety of food at breakfast . and items replenished regularly. Only complaint would be we booked the 2 course evening meal @ £22 each , we both chose fish and chips and the fish looked like it was a frozen piece out of a box ( triangular shape and flat) and frozen chips, we’ve never had a meal in a hotel restaurant and it not been freshly cooked. We wouldn’t eat in the hotel again.

Evening bar meal was adequate and breakfast was ok. Staff were all good. My window in room 333 was in a poor state and due to high winds it was totally inadequate it was so bad I hardly slept and had to put a pillow over my head to try to cut out the noise it really is in urgent need of replacing I appreciate the building is Victorian but new windows is a must
